Frequent 2 shot or 3 shot kills/kill attempts, kill attempts on return of serve as well as insane angles and superb ball placements. I do not think there is another player that plays quite like Mima Ito. Looking forward to future matches between these two. Really fun to watch with the informative and entertaining commentators.

Liu seems to have a lot of trouble with this style. Mima Ito, Jiang Huajun, Wang Yuegu, Cao Zhen, Sun Mingyang, the list goes on. Liu is fast-paced and aggressive, but this feeds straight into the backhand rhythm of short pips players. It's a little late in Liu's career to diversify, but she definitely suffered a lot under the hands of short pips players throughout the years. This likely haunted her and limited her ability to lead the Chinese team.
