I like German TT, but I used to underestimate Duda. This game is excellent, much to learn from.

Excellent game, people often moan about the lack of rallies at the top level but there were plenty here. Not often Felix gets consistently out-hit in top spin rallies but Duda was hanging tough here - good performance from him.

After all this time I think we can safely say that the sideways angle is a mistake. We're used to it now but it's still awkward. We need to see the table from behind one player or above and behind, as before. We need this to understand the speed and spin of the ball, just like when we're playing ourselves. Yes you can cover more of the action in a 16:9 frame this way but it's a nausea causing experience. Let's get it over with.
@Blackain6612 сағат бұрын
the main problem is the hight too, in most cases the cam is too high above so u cannot see how high the ball is over the net anymore als long as its low enough i dont mind, obviously the perspective from right edge would be best if no leftie is involved
@explorer351910 сағат бұрын
@knotwilg3596 please speak for yourself. I like the new angles and editing way more. Broadcasting a sports game is not about giving active players the best footage to analyze technique. It's about showing a general audience a match in the most exciting way.
@Mateus.0079 сағат бұрын
@@explorer3519 The new editing is very good, but the back angle is still better than side. Should use back angle and diagonal for replays.
@Chapman18863 сағат бұрын
@@explorer3519As a semi-casual viewer, I can't stand the angle. I have no feel for the ball's spin, how high above he net the ball is or a feel for the point at all. Every point looks the same and the intricacies of the game is lost. I don't know why you like this angle when it limits so much information which makes watching a lot less exciting? I agree with the replays being a necessary bandaid to give context lost during the rallies, but it's not enough.
@knotwilg35962 сағат бұрын
@@explorer3519 That's true and I'm biased as a player. But I'd wager we're a majority preferring the longitudinal view.

Most truly successful sportsmen and women have a certain amount of arrogance - it's one of the things that makes them what they are. I don't think Felix is a bad lad.
@samehalaa134813 сағат бұрын
Don't worry Felix, tomorrow your brother Alexis Lebrun will pack his bags as well after Lin Shidong sweeps him 3-0 and you'll go back to France together after losing in the double's quarterfinal against Harimoto and Matsushima
@jiboo685012 сағат бұрын
what da heck is wrong with you ??!
@samehalaa134812 сағат бұрын
@@jiboo6850 I mean, am I not allowed to make predictions? Felix's fans said he would beat FZD in the semi-final Olympics in Paris, France but he got absolutely demolished by Fan Zhendong 4-0. After winning Montpellier champions in his own hometown, they said he'll dominate the rest of the tournaments but turned out to a loss to Turls Moregaard in Frankfurt and 1st round exit in WTT finals in Fukuoka. I mean, Alexis ain't even any better. so what do you think he'll do against the mighty Lin Shidong who won 2 contenders 2 champions and 1 Smash title this season?
