Xuxin faced difficulty when calderano sent the ball frequently quite far from predicted area. Also Calderano showed very strong forehand shots, even he defeated quite sometime in the match. But in the final set, Xuxin fighted back cleverly with more diverse skills against his opponent's shots. Only depending on strong forehand shots doesn't gurantee victory, maybe he realized it. Very strong also so much intelligent and clever player. I hope you win the final

Great comeback attempt by Hugo being 0-3 down after some fairly close games. But Xu Xin proved that he is on top of his game at the moment. Those super blocks from the heavy top spin lops from Hugo were just amazing.

close match even though Xu Xin won the first 3 games. Xu Xin's backhand sputtered a bit in games 4 and 5. Calderano's topspin drives have a lot of pace on them.

Calderano has to work on his consistency if he brings more on the table with the speed he already has he will be unbeatable! I am a huge calderano fan, he is such a creativ, talanted and young player ,good luck for him!!

Good effort from Hugo. When you look at his previous matches against XX you can tell he's improved a lot since the last one. I think he might actually have the best or at least one of the best FH loop outside of China, which a surprising thing to say considering how his BH is known to be his biggest strength.

Calderano tries his best with intense concentration. But the skill gap between these two players is still noticed. The big difference is ACCURACY, which decided winning for Xu Xin. Calderano always plays with much power, but still not enough accuracy. Against a safe topspin oriented player like Xu Xin, you can not win if you are lack of accuracy. Xu Xin proved it by all time winning against Harimoto, who beat once any world top players and chinese top players except Xu Xin.

that is what i think is sad. almost all Cinese play "safe topspin oriented". they never really crack the ball. look at Calderano.. he BLAST(!!!) his opponent over and over again. if he only was more accurat as you say.

A point or 2 to get to 7th game. A little luck and match changes drastically. You can’t have a power game and expect the same accuracy as a all- around top spin player. He must win with what got him there. Powerful strokes.

Enough with the bs. Chinese players are extremely powerful! They just happen to have perfect technique and a lot of practice hours, hence the precision. But don't say that XX's topspin is the same as Ma Long's or heck, even FZD.

To Calderano's credit, he made Xu Xin play like his old, weaker self. Calderano had Xu Xin hesitating to rally with the RPB. He pressured Xu Xin's backhand until he could rip the forehand down the line to Xu's wide forehand. Just like old days. Xu Xin was definitely rocking and reeling, but Xu is so tough.

That was some great play by both. Does anyone else think that Hugo hides his serve a bit with his left hand at times? I'm not due to camera placement but at some point during the second or third set (don't remember exactly) Xu Xin had some real trouble reading his serve which is weird.

Hugo needs to improve his third ball attack . Also need to make better shorter returns to opponents serve! Another thing you need to work on is how to return very short returns against opponents short returns! Learn this from lFan!Also try not to go very far away from the table, try to dictate the rally from very start! Powerful shots are not enough, you need to be very deceptive too. Learn to put it in places where your opponent finds it uncomfortable as per the situation each rally. If you continue playing like this you will end up like Dima or Timo without ever winning the major tournaments! There is no shortage of good Chinese players, they keep coming. You need to improve, otherwise you will be stuck at top 4 or 5 throughout your career.

My advice to Hugo is use DHS hurricane 3 on Fh & butterfly dignics 05 on the bh, hurricane 3 because as Chinese game is based on keping the ball way to short and when it comes a bit long they attack,with hurricane u can topsin better and faster and can be safe in a short game if u want more faster try the skyline 3,or 2 ,and dignics 05 for a safe massive Bh, 2ndly chinese players specially attack on Hugo's wide Bh driving him away to obtain their points,3rdly Hugo try serving serving serves with more of underspin and backspin, this is what Chinese really serve most of the time, they do serve this serve short that u pop up the ball and they attack, last I would say try the bty viscaria , harimoto blade with the same setup , these blades are not only safe they are way to explosive in every aspect ,Hugo plays better than any Chinese player but,he needs a little guidance change of little equipment and overcome weakness.

One of the best table tennis games I've ever seen. I've always said if Hugo Calderano could cut his unforced errors out. He'd be close to number one in the world. Xu Xin gives you nothing and he is the best one wing player in the world. And I think the player who is the strongest away from the table.
