Chang, I did not say Mr Lin is not a Chinese, but at the present time he is not one of the the “official” Chinese team members, but that 張本智和 is a Japanese team member officially, and that is why I call him a Japanese.

Chang plus Mr Lin will not be allowed to be trained with the official Chinese National team which has so high a level, and his skills may be improved a little by participating games, but the official Chinese Team players and coaches will focus on finding out his weaknesses and attacking strategies through good practices over and over.

Just look how easy,in game one and two,XuXin changed a 9-6 lead by Lin into a win, 12-10 and 13-11, by himself!This is really where just an experienced and magic player like him can do such a nice magic!

Within two years this kid will consistently be top 5 and possibly one..his hand eye and certain qualities and raw materials will make him amazing..I've seen so many players over the years and competition is tough, but there's something unique with his talent..he'll win alot of tournaments and go down in 15 years as one of the best players ever..Unless he gets injured or disinterested or loses passion..

And MAYBE within 1 year..sometimes you take a step back after cracking top 20-30 when young, but it doesn't appear to be happening with him..He'll beat xu xin and has wins over some of the top guys, just needs a little more time and he'll be consistently one of the best players in the world..Wang Chuqin as well will be amazing

I suggest ittf to turn the highlight video a bit longer, cause in the middle of the video very often we can predict the results based by its length. For instance, in this video, when xu xin reaches 2-0, then you can pretty guess the winner, ruining the surprises. Maybe at the end of the game putting a ITTF's logo just to fill the gap.

If you're watching a recorded match there's no way you can be guessing right into the end unless the score is close (like 3-3). Once you've watched some of the video you can already have an idea of how the score will go.

Wish they could manufacture plastic table tennis balls matching the surface (friction wise) as the redundant cell-balls. That will remove the slight advantage of the hitters and flickers Vs spinners and loopers. Couldn't understand how top players (with top skills, of course) can counter ferocious spins with such ease until reading up on the surface specs of the balls. Thought they could beat natural law of physics coz it just doesn't look right. Anyway, now we have D 40+ (new ABS plastic) that is one step closer. Hope we'll get a precise replacement in the not too distant future. Many thanks to the ball manufacturers for spending so much time and effort on this fascinating sport.

lin was receiving the serve so well and making it difficult for xu to get the thied ball attacck. but i guess you have to mix it up with a player of xu xin calibre and the current form he is now . again that will come to him as experience. I strongly blve if a guy can stand for-hand to forhand rallies with xu xin and has an equally good back-hand, he z going be a force to reckon in upcoming years.. His coaches need to play a big role in that .

More like Lin YAdam, as he has explainded, tries to pronounce Lin's name as it sounds in Chinese. China has standardized using alphabets in place of traditional Chinese prononciation symbols so Chinese words can be pronounced correctly if you know how those alphabets sound in the pinyin system. Taiwan maintains the old way of trying to approximate sounding of Chinese words with alphabets as they are used in English which is itself far from being standardized.
