To be fair, the way Liam played today he could have knocked out one of Chinese top players, including Ma Long whom he did beat on one of those occasions. However, with his two boys sitting inside cheering their hero dad, Ma Long played like the prime Ma Long and won't be denied by any opponents regardless how they play. When the goat plays like the goat, it's hard to take even one game even if you are playing the best game of your life. By skipping WTT Macao, Ma Long seemd fresh and energetic. Lets see, if he can reclaim the crown at such an old age. I really hope to see the clash between him and the young blood Lin Shidong.

It's not that he's lasted this long that's impressive, it's that he's lasted this long while being trained by the Chinese. Outside of China it's pretty common for careers to last into the mid forties, but the way China trains their athletes they make them extremely strong at around the early twenties at the expense of the second half of their would-be career.@@ysf-d9i

If Ma Long retires, he should continue playing as a free agent or for a club and not be a coach. Doesn’t have to be for the Chinese National Team. He has much more to give to the sport. Waldner played his last match as a player ten years after he played his last international match for Sweden(2005)

The term you hear players yell: “cholei” comes from the mandarin term: “出了,or 出嘞” which basically means “out”
@賴志偉-d7hАй бұрын
But that doesn't make sense. Many of those are ins. My explanation is that it's short for "hao qiu le" (好球嘞), "好" is in the third tone and not obvious and is often left out, so it became "qiule"。
