Thanks for sharing about wormwood Lori 🙂It's possible it's on my property and I just thought of it as a weed. I'm going to take a real good look around my property next year and see what comes up. For sure my property is pretty overrun with goldenrod and I was able to gather a ton of it to water freeze, dehydrated for tea and I infused it in olive oil, red/white vinegar and balsamic vinegar.

@@OffgridWorld-w7f It's not hard to miss and pretty prolific in Canada but you may have a different variety there. I have a video, I think in my harvesting playlist, holding a bouquet of it and showing what I did with it. I hope you have it also 🙂

G’day Lori, came over here as a recommendation from Krista @AlmostaGreenAcre-zs5eu 🙏🏻🥰 I am interested to learn more about herbs and their usages. There is a large wormwood bush I planted some years ago in the garden yet I have never harvested from it. I will make the tincture and use as suggested including having a loo close after drinking the tea 🙀😀 how long do you keep the tincture for after straining? Terrific content 🙏🏻 thanks xx

Oh and I forgot to answer the question about the herbs I grow and what herb I want to grow and learn more about. That would be Herb Robert, part of the geranium family. It has healing properties and has interested me. I was also wondering if you had a recipe suggestion for a mosquito deterrent? Re the herbs I grow, basil, two types of parsley, marjoram, sage, rosemary, thyme, fennel, sage, stinging nettles, calendula and that’s just what I can remember. I make one tincture and cream regularly, a zinc based cream with beeswax base. The garden is full of calendula and I use the tincture of these in the cream. It helps protect my skin and clear up abrasions. I use so much of it became necessary to make it. 😀🥰

@WakeUpToYourself-237 OH the good old mosquito best thing for them is death itself lol 😆. Mint is a deterrent so a spray with mint in it is definitely recommended. Wow you've got quiet the list of herbs, nice. I haven't heard of Herb Robert will have to look into it. I'm just a newbie myself and hope to learn from this wonderful community. Slow and steady wins the race. ❤️

@ yep that’s it and I am with you on the mosquito, a good swat will do it too. I do grow citronella around where I mostly sit in the garden. I imagine it helps. We are near a river so the summer at dusk and dawn they can carry you away. Appreciate the tip, had not thought to use mint in a spray 🙏🏻🥰xx

What "weeds" lol or shall I say medicinal herbs have you found so far? There are foraging pages on Facebook and I joined foragers of BC. My group is super knowledgeable (I'm a complete beginner) I take a picture of a plant and post it there to get identification of the plant. Once identified I do a deep dive. Happy foraging and as always slow and steady wins the race.
