I've never entertained the possibility of someone much younger (because even men my age don't seem commitment minded) BUT recently met a guy thats 16 yrs younger. Continually surprises me with his maturity, NEVER mentions the age gap himself. Has been very respectful. I always assumed a young man couldn't have good intentions towards an older woman. I'm happy to learn I've been wrong.

I resonate with everything you’ve written. 16 years has been the norm for me. I didn’t plan it. I didn’t look for it. They couldn’t care less about my age. And I had originally underestimated their capacity for partnership. I too was wrong. Isn’t this exciting to constantly learn new things about life

Married in my late thirtys to a younger guy, who left me for someone young enough to be my daughter. Someone again, younger is so attracted to me now and I (59) am not able to go there again. I'll be in a rocking chair when he's retiring and wanting to travel. Tough when you get older. Age might not matter mid-life but, don't forget to look ahead.

Thank you for this. You are so right about the issue with children. My ex-husband, who is 17 years younger, left after 17 years because he changed his mind about children, and I was 5 years post menopause (he left when i was 60). Unfortunately, he was unable to find the right partner who was young enough to want more kids. But he has no regrets about our 17 years together - we were shockingly compatible, happy, and are now good friends. Neither of us are dating. The world has changed. In my grandmother's and mother's time, women over 60 were never expected to couple again, and they moved on to other pursuits. And although it is nice that romantic partnership has become more available to women my age (69) today, it is also a confusing and alienating thing that women my age continue to seek a partner and pair off, because I am experiencing peer pressure to search for that kind of love again, and I am wanting to put my focus on companionship with friends. Also, most of my friends are men because I'm having a hard time finding a group of single women who want to hang out with each other instead of seeking a partner. And i think apps like Our Time and Silver Singles push that with only money as their goal. And they are getting that money while we women have that carrot and stick dangled in front of us at a time in our lives when we are probably better off enjoying relaxing time with friends instead of time in front of the makeup mirror fretting about how we will look naked in front of men with our wrinkles and thighs and lips that have lost collagen. Why spend the last 3rd of my life that way? And I am pretty and weigh only 120, so this is not because I can't get men - I just can't find any single older men who are compatible and share my values and are not chasing younger women because they dont like who they are and dont accept their own aging. Also, many men (except 3 of my male friends/companions) take awful care of themselves, and no, i definitely do not want to spend the last third of my life as a caregiver. My sister is one now, and she is miserable. A friend is remarrying at age 74 after 10 years as a caregiver to her deceased husband, and her fiance was just diagnosed with cancer. These are arguments for remaining single after 65 and enjoying a circle of friends. But it can be hard to find them if they are all looking for partners again. Again, why? It can be more trouble than living the way my elders did. But the movies and dating apps say otherwise. They are selling a fantasy that we will be young again with romantic love as our inspiration; meanwhile, I'm finding that there is more to life than that - more to do with our time and other experiences to explore.

@SusanWinter why is it a double standard when I a man date a younger woman to date. I look online and there is a whole culture "cougars" who seek younger men. Many men will fuxk anything that looks half way decent.

@@Nicole-zv7ee not so far, he knows from the start that I never wanted children. He doesn't want either. By the way not all men want children, in my previous marriages none of my husbands wanted children (they were only 1 year older than me). I'm 44. So I knew from experience that there are lots of men out there who don't want children.

Its very cutlural. i was considered too old in the UK at 40, I remember on apps after age 39 interest dropped off and therefore felt my age was an issue, but in Italy after moving there, they don't have age hangups. I've never had so much attention from all ages of men. it's been a revelation. I'm app free enjoying male attention. Even the guy at the supermarket in his 20's will tell you, you are beautiul!. Also have an Italian lover who loves my body, 10 years younger. What a compliment. move country ladies!

I'm 58 my husband passed away 6 years ago he was 11 years younger and we were together for 15 years since he passed I've dated only younger guys 15-25 years younger. Now that I'm getting to a point where I want something long term I don't know if I will find a younger man who wants that but I've not found any men my age that Im attracted to or interested in. How do I meet a younger man who's actually interested in a long term relationship with an older woman?

Hi Susan how’s you doing lovely one ! I am 55 years old and I am absolutely happy and so proud to have reached this fantastic age still feeling fit healthy and fabulous… I do not date younger men though I don’t think there’s anything wrong with this as age is just a number after all but for me it’s more of an intellectual thing… I find it very difficult to meet someone who matches me intellectually… See the issues Susan is my high intellect as it seems to put a lot of people off of me… it either makes ppl run for the hills like I’m some sort of monster coming after them to feast on their innards hahahaha or they overwhelmingly gravitate too much towards me and want to possess me and keep me in their pocket like I’m some sort of precious keepsake… See Susan’ ageing is not a problem for me because I’ve always relied on my intelligence charm and grace to get me ahead in my life not by using my looks and/or my body. I am better off alone I think and as a natural loner this suits me just fine ! Thanks Susan’ for this entertaining informative video You delivered your message very well indeed to the masses I say Take care ! Ttfn;)

If you are that intelligent, why dont you mingle with folks at your level? Go to Galas, join intellectual clubs in your city, attend global conferences. There r plenty smart men to go around
