If you look at Black movements historically, the black community mobilized first before allies of other races came on board. Black activists made their movement highly visible through music, writing, marches, stand-ins etc. Other movements were happening simultaneously like labor movements and the anti-war Vietnam protests. The coming together of these other movements with white religious associations showing solidarity is how the civil rights movement diversified. If you look at the Black Panther party, the media will have you believe these were white-hating terrorists but in reality, Fred Hampton united white workers' groups, Spanish groups to create the Rainbow Coalition. It was the uniting of these different struggles that made the Black Panther so "dangerous" to power structures and why Fred Hampton was eventually assassinated. Once the Anti-Asian hate groups gain traction with their community members they can begin allying with other organizations to strengthen and fight for solidarity across differences.

I stumbled upon this conversation and I wish I could have been sitting in one of those chairs. I As I age, I appreciate the events I have witnessed and lived through. The lessons I have learned. Dialogue is the key to correcting some of the ills we have in the US particularly when it’s about race. Math a lot of Asians regardless of their age are racists. Straight up. Cube rapped about it while in NWA. Latarsha Harlin’s case in LA. They have no reason to be, but they were taught by the media, the colonizers to fear us. They will until they get to know us. My best friend Is from Osaka, Japan. We met in college. I mean Yuki came home to Alabama with me and mom had her washing and cutting up collard greens for dinner. She explained that their are warnings given to Japanese citizens who are traveling to America for the first time. Also, if you talk with young people in Japan or SK, they will tell you the images of Black people in the media shape their beliefs and unless they study abroad they have a very negative view of us. Also, the entire world has problems with colorism. The standard of beauty in SK involves White skin, double eyelids, keen jawline, small face. If you watch a K-drama, you may notice in a close up the appearance of White powder makeup. They are known for their skincare products. A lot contain stuff to whiten your skin. They have makeup for men and women. Huge makeup and skincare line. They want flawless faces as much as possible. Plastic surgery is a must have in some cases if you want to work in movies and TV. If you are bullied in school too. The darker you are, the less desirable you are. May even be called a Monkey by and elder. The elders think if you marry a Black person, it’s shameful, but okay if it’s a White man. Young guys stereotype Black women, so women who move their to teach May encounter getting played. They just want a taste and they go through all kinds of hoops to try to get it. Africans who marry SK the female is in danger of being kicked out of the family. SK males too. Lot’s of 20 somethings when asked disavow racism and admit it exists a lot, but say it’s mostly with the elders. It’s all taught by the media. The majority of citizens have never met a Black person. China Mac has zero education about what it takes in THIS country for change to happen. UNITY Jewish and Black college students from the North going down South to help Black people register to vote. The young men were murdered, but they believed we needed them and that the fight for civil rights would have to be undertaken by more than just Black people. When these overt incidences against the Asian community began, some people commented ( I interact globally) on the difference between the response to racism against Blacks and the response to Asian hate. I made this comment: When you sit by and watch the injustices done to other people and do nothing but continue as if it doesn’t matter because it’s not you, what do you expect when it’s your turn. When you live in a White Supremacist country, Black people are one of the groups, but eventually the hate mongers are going to look at you. Eating in your restaurants, doesn’t mean a patron won’t attack you, you are not immune. Black people have been building bridges since well before we were born. Those relationships we built help us protest and fight for Justice. Whatever gain Black people make, it benefits white women and other races and ethnicities. Affirmative action helped more WWomen than us. Helped minorities. I do agree with China Mac that Asians need to fight for themselves because maybe if they do, it will extend to rest of the nation. I felt this way with Kanye. Jewish people have a pact they made in the 30’s. Someone come for you, is the same for us, so we fall in line and start using our power to show him, you are not sole responsible for your come up. Black people upset because they didn’t do that when he dogged out Harriet Tubman, minimized slavery, disrespected George Floyd. Jewish companies/Allies are not obligated to help us when we don’t help ourselves. We all over social media trying to really glorify a narcissist who “evolved” from GB is racist to talking about us and distorting our history. He gave the Proud Boys and other Aryan groups the co-sign. He validated their hate. Kanye is Uncle Rukus. He will turn on you for a dollar and a dime. WE should have checked him with our power. We have spending power. It was true 30 years ago and is true today. All we have to do is stop buying. Black men defending him like he is a victim. There are consequences to your actions. If we didn’t sit Kanye down, why should someone else? We give the queues. Everybody Black ain’t for us. Everybody White or Other are not against us. I learned we have to teach people how to treat us. Unity is the key. Read how the concept of race was constructed in the US. You will understand the need for Unity that you Math are talking about. #MATH I am subscribing and turning on notifications.

I'm from San Francisco... Born and raised... Grew up diverse. Went to school with everyone! Any and every race out there. I always thought racism was old news. Wasn't till social media that I started seeing it. I would tell people that shit is fake and this and that. They had to school me to what was going down. I'm saying this, cause I grew up with not a worry of this type of stuff. Now, so many folks are moving all over and this crap is happening all over. It's gettin wild even here. Really wish we could all just be koo. But this country loves division. I've seen so many things now that social media helps promote it. It's crazy! I've always lived life like I'm koo with you as long as you're koo with me.

I love and respect Math Hoffa, because I know he loves Black people, and the Hip Hop culture. He wants everyone to come together. As a Black man, I feel Black people should worry about Black people's issues. Our issues are different and unique from other races and groups in the US of A. Another reason I personally think we as Black people should focus solely on Black issues is because when we help other races and groups, there's no reciprocity. Let's fix ourselves here first, and then help our Black brothers and sisters throughout the diaspora. I know this king Math Hoffa understands what China Mac is saying, and disagrees, but that's actually how all Black people should move IMO; how China Mac is moving with his movement for Asian people. And from what I can see, we are starting to move like that more now.
