My problem is these preformances are coming against middling/bottom teams, and we're about to go up against some better teams real soon. The first 30 minutes was shambolic, we made them look like a top 4 team.

Until liverpool do liverpool things and gift them a goal back into the game with shambolic decision making. And that made the game closer than it was and more uncomfortable than it needed to be. @@Metis1337 Don`t agree totally with you. First 25 minutes we were not good. But still, Wolves did not create much. But to adress your concern, I think that a lot of us fans expect we should automatically win every game against middlig/bottom teams. Wolves are last, but has had some extremely though games. United is a (in theory) top 7 team and we played rondo with a few of their players in an easy win in hindsight. Don`t know if you watch other teams, but I don`t think there are to many easy wins in the PL.:-) That beein said I think Liverpool has a tendency of getting complacent, and in my opionon it seems like Slot is trying to adress it.

What I'm worried about is we have an ineffective right winger in Salah today. And a midfielder that wouldn't give 100% in tackles in Macca. I'm pissed about those 2 players.

I'm old enough to remember Roy Evans team, they played plenty of good games that they somehow managed to lose or draw, in an era when 80 odd points would win the league. Not our best game today, Szoboslai and Salah's decision making and passing was largely shite, and not for the first time this season, but a win is a win. In any case, it's still early days with Arne so they're only going to get better once they're more familiar with what he wants them to do.

Salah's form must be a real concern even for the most ardent fans. He was shocking as was Trent. Just how many times did he lose the ball or make a poor pass in the first 20 minutes? Scored a penalty but overall contributed very little. Sadly, this has been his trajectory for a few years. Some just don't want to believe or accept it. We have Gakpo who is on fire but sits on the bench. Could it be that journalists close to LFC just will not criticise Salah. I ask again, what were his stats for the game?

tricky venue wolves have traditional heritage and great stadium acoustics. arne's starting eleven should really be trying for at least 2 goals in 60 mins and then bring on 3 of your attacking strike team for 30 mins for another goal.. i had this down for 2 nil so i am pretty unhappy ali did not take control with the wolves goal. i have never been so confident lfc could win the league.

Don't get me wrong. Klopp was a great legend, but LFC did not win 37 matches out of 38 in every of the 9 seasons and also did not reach to the final in 9 consecutive UCL seasons neither. Klopp was a legend as he established LFC as a permanent top team not overspending and never getting carried away. But he did not blew away LFC's opponents every single match in 9 seasons. Slot has done an excellent job so far. The squad has taken more responsibility. Both staff and squad show the right attitude. Giving a break to most of his starting lineup did have a negative impact on the performance against Wolves, but was a smart move to prevent injuries and for the tough fixtures after the next international break. So, be very happy. Be grateful how well LFC is doing. PL is still a very tough competition. Like Slot said : we will know more after 19 PL matches.

Who is complaining about the performance? It's an xG win of 2.64-0.56, and even though it was closer than that in reality we saw it out extremely professionally. Any xG win of that scale away in the Premier League is to be celebrated, this was a dominant performance. The first 25 mins we absorbed their best, then dominated the game thereafter. Beautiful. Slot made a tactical tweak around the 25 minute mark, I'd be interested to know what that was exactly. It looked like he asked Szoboszlai to sit a bit deeper maybe. Slot deffo tweaked something around then though, he communicated it to Szoboszlai.

IMO you have to review the game not in isolation. We were awful first 30 minutes, a better team would have opened us up much more with the control they had. Our front 3 looked isolated and disjointed again, and we give away a sloppy goal.

I love the way our defence has been shorded up and we don't have to keep coming from behind. But the real acid tests will be playing the likes of Villa, Chelsea, Spurs ETC. No disrespect to the teams we've played so far though.

I agree David we become more solid defensively I was annoyed at the goal because we was in control then I thought first 20 minutes wolves tried to overwhelm us physically in midfield and they were winning way too many duels but I thought him adjusting sbozo position and gravenberch being an absolute monster helped us also sbozo and salah have been poor the last 2-3 games more sbozo than salah I would start Macca 10 and put Curtis beside grav in the pivot against bologna

It wasn't easy but then again we won. I think that we're all a little spoiled by Jurgen's 'total attack' style and we're failing to look at the bigger picture. In my opinion 'the bigger picture' is that we haven't really struggled apart from our one loss. I wonder if people perceive performances under Slot as being "poor" becuase he has a different definition of control than Klopp did. I think Slot is happy to concede possession, even in and around the 18 yard area, as long as he has a lot of bodies behind the ball. Opposition can have the ball around our 18 yard area for significant periods of time, yet Slotball still keeps their xG low?

I’d slightly disagree in that I don’t think Slot is necessarily happy to surrender the ball in those positions and I believe he will be keen to fix it. BUT the structure of his team is such that losing the ball there is not a total disaster because Liverpool are always set up to get quickly back into shape. For me, that’s why they’re not giving up many good opportunities.

We play well and produce a decent amount of good attacks and chances, unfortunately Salah was terribly sloppy in the final 3rd and this cost us on several occations. Apart from this and the Konate blunder we were quite solid. People who panic and say "this level will not do when we come up against Arsenal and City" don't understand football. Those games are completely different.

Well you cheered me up a bit David with the stats, but the other half of my brain didn't enjoy watching that. The game chimed with many performances against "weaker" PL opposition over the past 2 or 3 years. It's perfunctory and the players seem to forget there are no easy games in this league. That's been one of the key differences between us and City the past few years. When there's a "big" team in front of them by contrast, the players' performances are almost alway there. I really hope Slot irons out what's become a bad trait ....

I think we always seem to make hard work of teams we "should" beat, and play better against better teams. Performances were much better against United and Milan. Perhaps we unconsciously drop our concentration, and take for granted the opponent, but fully focus when we know we have to.. #Hard to understand this lethargic performance and lack of ability to kill this game off by well rested players. Baffling lack of composure on the ball by Trent for about 60', despite being good defensively. Mo and Szoboszlai missed absolute sitters. Top of the league won't last if we can't play more consistent football. Mac Allister's and Gravenberch's perseverance and dogged intensity saved us. The team seemed to not know how to press against 3 CBs.

I think some fans have been getting over excited. Besides maybe MU away we should have been winning these games, and MU are struggling this season anyway. The true tests will come from Chelsea onwards and when we have 3 games a week, week after week, injuries etc. I think Jones needs to come in for Szoboszlai as well, he's looked better in his short cameos.

From a growth perspective, hopefully this is a key performance for Konate. Great job on the header to score his first goal in the Prem. The howler was terrible BUT the club bounced back quickly as did Konate with a vital block as Wolves were threatening. Mo needs to be rotated or subbed earlier as we go on. He's going to burn out playing this much and it looks like he has a tad. He's been piss poor in open play of late. Bad touches on the rush have led to counters. He keeps trying to dribble through 1-2 defenders in the final third leading to repeated loss of possession. Legend, but even legends need some rest. Mo could use some.

There are better teams waiting after the International break as slot says in his pressers which I really like because he doesn't come across delusional, recognises we have had easy fixtures teams at the bottom and will really see where we are when we play Brighton, Chelsea arsenal Madrid city, slots more level headed than most fans. Slot even told everyone a few weeks ago that szboszlai as a number 10 does good work off the ball work for the team that's all good however In the number 10 role he needs more assists and goals that has to improve,. This sloppy slow like last season will get punished. I'm not surprised as it's slots first season and it's all klopp players with the same habits he needs his own players with the best klopp players and more time to iron out old habits. That 10 position is definitely needs improving

A great grind out win. I thought the Wolves played incredibly hard today and proved to be a very tough opponent. Aside from Konarte's mistake, which undermined an otherwise marvelous performance, my only other criticism of the side was their failure to retain possession, especially when they were ahead. Keep the friggin' ball!! The other team can't score if you keep the friggin' ball!!!.

Still early. City lost Rodri, so this is a chance in the title race, but then games vs. Nottingham and most of the first half vs. Wolves show difficulties. Can Slot fix it down the stretch? We NEED patience. I am in good faith that this team is good enough to secure a CL spot though. But no doubt with Klopp this very team would have won every game so far and would have played for the main titles (they did last season till injuries hit and killed rotation and rhythm). Good teams win ugly. I don't feel negative about this result at all, far from it. We weren't great & gifted Wolves a goal but we got the 3 points which is all that matters. I agree mate I think people are way overreacting. It was an annoying performance but it was not terrible either. We were still tight at the back and Wolves just 'felt' dangerous without actually being dangerous. It's like most fans can't judge a performance for themselves, they just repeat what they hear

Sorry to be that guy, but it's a bit if both with a huge swing to a GOOD sign by the end. I think the sloppiness around the goal was a concern. The positive to take is that it has to be a wake up call. Nothing wrong with being shaken out of complacency. Another slowish start. But again, with the caveat that Wolves didn't really get at us. It's a really good sign, imo. Again with the understanding that Slot's only just here. It'll improve. Onwards and upwards. Let get at Bologna.

Chiesa is being used wisely by the manager and his fitness team, when he is fully up to speed you'll see more of him I think the manager his managing all the players well look at the injury list compared to klopps reign, ynwa

I think the team is still getting into the Slot way of playing and hopefully they will improve the more games they play. But some basic things that the team needs to look at. Being more alert as sometimes they seem to switch off for moments. Sluggishness. Some games are fine but some games they seem to be sluggish and not moving the way they do in their A game. But the test I believe will come in November when we have that series of games against top teams. Hopefully the squad will have had enough time to absorb Slot's tactics fully then.
