I feel for this man. I have psoriasis however it’s managed with medications right now. When I was in flares it was embarrassing to seek beauty treatments of any kind due to people judging and not understanding it’s a medical condition and not contagious. Thank you for taking such great care of him.
@lucyw.7597

Exactly. I've had it for over 40 yrs in varying degrees. So many people have it, yet so many people still seem so ignorant & uneducated about it. People saying they had some particular shampoo & it cleared up, it was very very unlikely to be psoriasis. It can be managed for periods of time, it can even come & go for a while, but it's still incurable at the moment. there's still a depressing amount of snake oil sellers out there making a killing from it, becasue when you have it, you can get desperate to try anything.

@leahblevins9202 Yes it should. I purchased a medicated shampoo. You can buy from your local pharmacy. Tea tree oil and acv from the grocery store. Added acv and water to a spray bottle would saturate my hair and sit for 15 mins, be sure to dilute the acv with water. Straight acv stings like HELL on your scalp. After 15 min, I would wash twice with the medicated shampoo and add the tea tree oil to my scalp for another 15 mins, then rinse out. I repeated this for 3months straight every couple days, not every day cause acv will dry your scalp out. Hope it helps you and clears your problem up as well.

I think this is a kind of dandruff people get from an autoimmune reaction to yeast. We all have yeast in our follicles. Some people have overpopulation, and the immune system reacts to it. The result is that the surrounding skin cells are also attacked. It causes this type of build-up. Antifungals, both oral and topical, can help this problem.

I also used a treatment of putting on dandruff shampoo before I get in the shower and let it sit for about five minutes before I shampoo and wash it out. Pardon my ignorance, can people with locs wash their hair?
@iceygivenz3117
@iceygivenz3117 9 ай бұрын
@@roxcyn Great question and well put as most people don't know. By far I know most of my Rastafarian friend wash their locs but its more of a natural process and not regularly. When I say natural, not with Head and Shoulders but more a mix of old passed down methods that don't contain all the horseshit for a lack of a better word someone like I would use. I am guilty of the worst type of hygiene as Irish Spring body wash is my go-to even though I know that it contains so many types of chemicals that cannot be possibly good for me. But in short washing your hair regularly is not good for the hair to begin with for anyone.

I use apple cider vinegar to remove scale. Then I wash. You may have to use vinegar a couple of washes for it to dissolve dead skin. Maui Moisture Shampoo works the best for not irritating the scalp. Olive oil, Shea butter, Amla oil, or Argan oil help. I stopped drinking milk and almost gave up dairy completely. Castille soap is good for sensitive skin also. Great job.

Also selsum blue shampoo on a bi-weekly bases could calm those scales and patches.Use it on your side burns and beard too. Be careful not to get it in your eyes. Let it sit on their scalp for a few minutes until they’re done washing their body and rinse well! Game changer! You can use it in your shop as well. But you’d have to shave beards etc first. Key is to let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse. Works better than anything else on the market for 9/10 of my clients. Of course, everyone is different! It cost around $28 a bottle. I’ve got locs and I just can’t imagine having that kind of build up!! At this point I’m at a loss , is it the locs or the maintenance?
@MysCathy

His scalp is the problem. He needs to see a dermatologist then whoever did his locs didn’t care about his hair. That’s what I hate about these outta the bathroom loc doers. Anyone can slap gel on ur hair and twist it but that doesn’t make them a loctitian.

I really would have liked to see you put some oil/shine on his dry hair at the end and steam his face and add a little moisture to it. Great cut, but that boy looked dry in the end.

That was a serious transformation! I like the fact that you said you can’t compare two different peoples cuts. Every client is different. The fact that you know that shows you are a Barber, not just cutting hair at great clips.

This was my first time watching your channel. Yikes! Your cut was great and I appreciated your narration. I have read that for locs and braids, people need to clean their scalps regularly with an apple cider vinegar solution, diluted with water. There is a certain ratio of water to vinegar, but that information can be determined with a little more research. The solution cleanses, balances the pH, and exfoliates the scalp. I hope that client goes to a dermatologist for the proper diagnosis.

You are without a doubt the BEST barber ive ever seen and i say that because, anyone can do a taper-fro and make it look flawless on a 15 year old kid with a hairline that starts 2 inches above the eyebrow....you turned ground zero into buckingham palace.

Wow, you've done an amazing job with this client. I really feel what was going on for you in your head & in your voice over. Very descriptive. I worked as a barber & hairdresser. I still remember that one client who had such a damaged scalp. Bits of skin were blocking up my comb. He wouldn't let me wash his hair & when I hit it with a water spray, man the stale nicotine smell in his hair hit me! It was so difficult could get through it, so I get how you had a goal line to get to. Now he will be able to give his scalp care all the nurturing it needs. Your lines & frame of the face & back of his neck were highly commendable. Great work indeed!! 💯👏🏽

My son has scalp psoriasis and. It’s a constant battle. He does best when his hair is debulked so his scalp can breathe, it cuts down on fungal growth too. I have him rotate between nizoral (antifungal is ketoconazole) and selsen blue (selenium) and shampoo with tar. This helps a ton. You did an awesome job.
