Hi Jody, i have purchased recently a PAGANI Submariner and i’m kind of surprised because i have received an updated model, now it comes with Sapphire cristal, the cyclope was changed and now it has a better augmented vision for the date and the best part is that it comes now with the NH35A 24 jewels and it has the hacking feature! Also, the box has been changed with a better and smaller design. I’m so happy that I think i will purchase the Pagani Hulk as well!!!! 👍

Imagine there is a table in front of you with 3 watches. The branding has been removed from them. The one on the left is a quartz watch and made with cheap brass, with a painted gold finish, the face has bad printing, the crystal is plastic, It claims water resistance 10M. but has no gasket for the crown. It feels light and cheap and the band looks like leather on the outside, but the inside looks like some kind of treated paper that is sandwiched and glued together. The watch in the middle is made of stainless steel with a sapphire crystal, Rated to 200Meters, The movement is automatic and with your naked eyes you cannot see any imperfections, it feels solid and well made. The watch on the right is also stainless steel with a sapphire crystal and automatic movement. It is rated to 300M. It feels just as solid and well made as the last one, perhaps a bit better. Somebody asks you to create a sliding scale and determine the placement of the watch in the middle based on the quality. Chances are there is going to be a large gap between the left watch and the middle watch.. The watch on the left is a $10. Timex. The watch in the middle is a $80 Invicta, the watch on the right is a $12000. Rolex.. My point is, Invicta is a great value and should not be sneered at simply because of the price point. Rolex is a far beyond the point of diminishing returns. The primary reason to wear a Rolex is simply to flex your wealth. There is a lot of Snobbery when it comes to watches but even if you are above considering a Invicta, These Starking watches have absolutely no brand recognition which means little to no resale potential. At least with a Invicta you can get 75% of your purchase price back, With a Starking, maybe $10.

I will never buy a watch that has false water resistance on the dial, there are some of these type watches on ebay listed with 300-1000 M WR on the dial but 30M in the description. I don't have a problem with cheap watches, just ones that lie about the specs.

Story time: I met someone with a parnis sub homage yesterday, except he didn't (or couldn't) seat the crown after setting the time and had therefore worn the watch just for show. Just love your Rolex wall clock ! Now as for the watches I like the Invicta Pro Diver 40mm which is the closest to Rolex Sub size. Only things I don't like is all the Invicta logos all over it. Other than that the automatics with the Seiko movements usually keep good time. If I drop it, scuff it or it just stops working I'm not going to cry as if it were a $10,000 real Rolex ! I think anyone watching your channel over the past year or so have to appreciate the incredible irony of a knock off brand like Invicta getting Knocked off! And then seeing their imitator getting more money for their pieces than they do! All in all. If brand isn't important in your watch buying factor, usually price is and that's the Starking killer right there. For that price you can get close to an Invicta Grand Diver. This is the last time you will ever see me defend Invicta. What a world!

Where I live, Invicta 8926OB can be had for around $115 but this still is fine. And it runs for +3.5 to +4 seconds a day out of the box. For something with +16 s/day though, I wouldn't pay even half of this amount.

I would almost bet any amount of money that the bracelet is made by the same manufacturer that makes the Invicta bracelet. Had Starking followed the lug shape of the Invicta more closely, it would likely fit perfectly. Most of these companies source their cases and parts from the same places. It’s not as if there’s a cottage industry making small run 316L stainless steel diver cases and parts.

Simon Hornby Ive got an Invicta Pro-Diver thats at least 15yrs ! Long before they started using the NH35 movement, it first came out w/ the Miyota 8215 , it kept chronometer C.O.S.C time for many years! I still wear it today , to the gym and lake , it doesn't keep as accurate time as it use to but its one hell of a beater!!! Nothing wrong w/ Invicta Pro-Diver, its Invicta's other models that give it such a bad name!

I don't mind the 10 or 20 more bucks. But Why do they want to parody the Rolex Submariner? This Starking watch is a good looking submariner in itself. They had no reason to photoshop a Rolex Submariner in their advertisement material! It's like them saying, their submariner is ugly, so they'll rather show us a photoshopped Rolex instead. I mean, if you're not proud of your product, how can you expect me to? Learn something from Casio, Seiko, even Invicta. They are damn proud of their products, even if it is a 10 dollar F91 and that confidence in their sales pitch gives their brand so much depth.

I wish you could do a comparison of Rolex Submariner homage watches under $100: Tevise, Kimsdun, Sinobi, LGXIGE, Wealthstar, Arlanch, WLISTH 1853, Ouim, Ananke, Geya, Kinyued, Carnival, Poloboss, Fngeen, Winner, Weisikai, Corgeut, Pagani Design, Loreo, Age Girl, Parnis, Paulareis etc. To my eyes, the Kimsdun appears to do the best homage, but I'm sure other factors should be considered overall.

Some invicta watches are Solid watches! Swiss Ronda quarts movements and pretty well built. Don't know would I bother with the autos. Although they had a nice piece called the Subaqua Noma III 500m diver. It was a beast of a thing and was my daily wearer for years.

It's perplexing, Starking have made great lower price watches and with sapphire crystal. Didn't they make that with a high beat too, so why manufacture crap in an area which is over saturated with submariners? I'm sick of seeing them. Invicta I don't know. It's like Parnis, I hear mixed messages about them. I wouldn't touch another Benyar in though. 316L turns out to be alloy. Obviously copyright and advertising standards are not recognised in China. I think that's the first thing you learn when you get into it and manage to decipher the Chinglish. Great, a good honest review Jody. Those were over ordered gilt hands and were left overs from another job. 👍

Since when does 4hz count as 'high-beat'!? That seems pretty standard, for Swiss watches, at least -- and not just high-end movements but fairly-average ETAs / Sellitas. Even Seiko don't label watches as 'Hi-Beat' until 5hz.

Excellent video, Jodie. I think people should just forget about the Invicta and the Star King, pony up anywhere from 20 to 40 more dollars US and Get an Orient Mako II. It blows those other two right out of the water (pardon the pun) excellent quality, excellent watch, A true value proposition.

I have an Invicta Prodiver and a Mako II, I actually prefer the Invicta. I'm not going to say it's BETTER, but I prefer its styling. Not a fan of the Mako's hand set. I also feel badly beating up my Mako and have no qualm about banging up my Invicta, haha.

Starking - probably they made this brand specially to sell abroad, cause on Taobao it's even more expensive and not easy to find. Still happy with my Loreo 9203 (with weekday) on ST16, gains +18 for a week. Which is way better than any of my Amphibias for 3600 rubles - almost the same as 400RMB for Loreo, but the quality of Amphibia is ..... inferior, very inferior even compare to cheap Chinese "copy watch". Living in China now and glad to discover some Chinese watches, which I've never heard before. Having bunch of Shanghai and waiting for Sea-Gull Ocean star and FIYTA aeronautics.

He might have purchased it from BestWallClock com. They offer a variety of models, plus Panerai and Omega clocks. I'd be very surprised if these are licensed products, given the price. I know that Sinn makes the Art-Nr. 5.040 clock (styled on the Sinn 857) and Mondaine makes the 'MONDAINE SMART STOP2GO CLOCK MSM.25S10', which mimics a Swiss Railway Clock, plus standard clocks that don't mimic a Swiss Railway Clock. Both of these clocks are at prices I'd expect (i.e. much more expensive), but I'd really like either of them.

Just another example of Starking's disgraceful, misleading advertising. I just bought a quartz watch with day/date complication (with the complication bit meaning it was b... near impossible to set the date or day, the crown only came out one position-you had to shag around for hours to get the day or date screwing the crown hundreds of times in both directions) ALL of the advertising photos (there was plenty of them) had the day in ENGLISH letters, whereas when I finally managed to set the darn thing with the correct date and day (temporarily) I adjusted the time and found..... the english day letters only appeared between 1:30a.m. and 3:30 a.m.,then the dreaded changeover... from that time onwards you needed to be Chinese to tell which f....ing day it was! Am still going through the very complicated, long Aliexpress process of getting a refund (not holding out too much hope there, either).

Seems roughly equivalent to the pro diver to me. Own movement is kind of cool. Seems like you should get whichever is cheaper or you like more for whatever reason.
