We had no chance of signing Duran. Villa gave him the no.9 shirt in the middle of the transfer window, and they kept raising the price. We would have had to pay way over the odds with a huge sell on clause, if we had any chance at all.

Like you i have been a hammers season ticket holder for numerous years (retired now) and have seen alot worse but my frustration is not with the player or the manager its the fact that out of the two players in question i would have preferred Duran, Sullivan would not pay Villa 40mil but opted to pay the lesser amount of 27.5 mill for a prem untried, injury prone player in his later years and also in his last year of contract, alot of money. I truly cannot wait to see the Fulk start, he's only played less than one game so its wait and see before we judge, as for J-Lo although there has not been a massive difference to how we've played for the last two years he has to be given time, Fergie almost got sacked after six months but Man U stuck with him and did'nt do too bad.
