Worship Throwback - Refiner's Fire (acoustic) - Brian Doerksen, Vineyard Worship

Acoustic cover of Refiner's Fire, written by Brian Doerksen and published in 1989 by Vineyard.
This was one of my favorite worship songs in high school (in the mid 90's). It was a popular one being sung in more modern worship contexts at the time - Vineyard was a huge influence on contemporary worship music. I always personally connected with this song in a pretty special way.
I'm playing here using key of D chord shapes with a capo on the 2nd fret, so I'm playing in the open key of E.

Whenever I do a night of worship I try to sneak in at least one song from this era (I Exalt Thee, Open the Eyes of My Heart, etc) because these were the first contemporary worship songs I learned and they always hold a special place in my heart.

I like these "old school" songs 🎵 I think this was popular in the late 1980's and early 1990's. I was going to Jubilee Christian Center then and Ron Kenoly was the Worship Leader. I hope you keep playing some of these types of songs in the future. God bless.
