Dream Pedalboard Brad. I made my first P&W board in 1985 from an old school desk with a few Boss pedals velcroed on. In those days there were very few electric guitars in churches. I ran into an Orange 120W head and 4x12 cab! How things have changed. I have my ideal board now with many of the things you have.

I'd love to see a video to assist those of us who are on a more minimalist budget. I have been acoustic player for years, but our church has need for electric player(s), so I'm considering making the jump in an attempt to meet that need. What would be your choice for budget-friendly guitar, and what are the 3, 4, 5 pedals that you would HAVE to have to get going.
@bmitchellmusic Жыл бұрын
You are watching a different-type of video here. This is really for informational and entertainment purposes haha Have you been following us for any amount of time tho? We bang the Line 6 drum and always suggest it. Not just cause we like it and make product for it but because it’s really the best stuff out there. What does budget mean tho? Very subjective. Pod Go is going to be the best and cheapest way to get a reliable and quality piece of gear. You start breaking down what you need for a rig and it can’t be beat at all.
@calebwhitcraft1664 Жыл бұрын
Like Bradford said, budget is relative, but if you need an entry-level guitar that is still going to hold up for a bit, Squier's Classic Vibe series is great for the price, especially if you know someone who can set it up for you at a discount. You can find them used around here for 300 all day, sometimes 200 and under. I think they did a video tricking one out with a bunch of upgrades a while back.

That setup is crazy. I wouldn't have the first clue how to even operate it! How about a multi-effects pedal that does *most* of what you had going on there? Really, in worship you don't need 10 or 50 different sounds. A handful should work. Some recommendations for newbs that might want to play electric in worship?
@bmitchellmusic Жыл бұрын
Sure, at the root of it all a few sounds works. But I’m not content just making the same few sounds. I always try to do something extra that allows me to use the creativity God has instilled in me. And it’s become part of life’s work. If you feel great pairing with the 3-5 colors you got at your disposal that’s great! But there’s a whole lot more out there I’m looking to discover and utilize :) We cover a lot of different units here. Any of the L6 stuff will get you most of what it seeks you are after.
@aleksandergrzybowski8899 Жыл бұрын
@metrocaptain get the HX Stomp, or even Pod Go if you are on tight budget. You can easily cover 99% of the common worship tones. Sure, you won't have crazy synths or multiple stacked delays, but you'll be fine. :)

I ended up with the Echosystem because of the two independent engines, I was leaning Nemesis because I LOVE SA's editing software (and I hate setting presets on Empress stuff, lol) but if you do seperate delays on Nemesis, it has to be the same engine, ie 2 tapes or 2 analogs. That's why I ended up Echosystem and yeah, sounds just top-notch. I'm still trying to figure out how I want to use my Zoia, I might have bit off more than I can chew there. I think I had in mind that I'd get CBA Mood or Microcosm sounds out of it more easily, and there are a few patches like that available on patchstorage, but to try to dial that in myself would require more time than I can even comprehend. I can see it being a good catch all for mod stuff, but I'm pretty happy with my mod section as is, I'm really just looking for spacey stereo washy reversey chirpy out of control nonsense stuff.

If you want the ramping tremolo sound, you can’t really get it in Helix. You basically have to map tremolo speed to an LFO, which Helix can’t do. You can get somewhat close with the stepped tremolo (I forget the actual name of it in Helix), but it’s not smooth like an LFO would be.

Quartz runs the tempo, the "clock". Although the PBC can do midi timing, the Quartz is easier to have in reach for "on the fly" adjustments by tap tempo or even using the preset or tempo knob. Plus, you program presets on it with a pretty usable PC-based editor, and control it (ID the tempo preset per song) with the RJM PC editor as well. Very usable, dependable and effective for time based and even modulation effects!
