I've been dealing with dizziness since late January. As I watched this video, I realized that I am guilty of doing every item listed here, especially from September through December. Awareness is key. Thank you for creating this video, and thank you for the suggestions/videos to help combat cervical vertigo. Here's to strengthening and healing!

Thank you, this is incredibly helpful information. Some of it I’m already aware of after dealing with this condition for 3 1/2 years how to sit properly… I realise I have a habit of not having my bottom against the back of the chair. 👍🏼

Twice I have woken up out of my sleep, in bed, gone to turn around or lift my head off the pillow only to suffer extreme dizziness. Both times I went to hospital and had a CT head scan and blood tests that all came back clear. Ive had neck and shoulder pain and tension for a long time now and mentioned this to the ER Dr and he didn't seem to find it relevant. I have made an appointment with a local chiropractor to assess and treat me. It's a very frightening experience especially when you live alone to deal with. 😢

Any news after ur visit to chiropractor? I had similar episode once, unable to move my body but hands for about 24 hours 12 years ago. Now I have vertigo. Doc says bvvp, I think it is cervical vertigo
@summersun28286 ай бұрын
@@Altruisticme I truly think it's not a structural physical thing with me. I went to the chiropractor last year for a good 4 months solid. He was working on my shoulder and neck but nothing improved. I spent so much money going to the chiropractor only to be told by a very experienced physio that I was/am fine. I tend to believe the physio's assessment over that of the chiropractor's. I believe my symptoms are fuelled by my mind being on a constant fight or flight mode following some emotional trauma and that I can retrain my brain and consequently be symptom free.

Avoid dizzy with cervicogenic 1. Sit straight by touching your lower back to seat and feet needs to touch ground ( use something under your feet) 2. Follow 3 for 30 rule, take breaks and walk for 3 minutes 3. Do not in bed for too long, the more you lay down the more spine muscles get weak, we need to walk more 4. Do more physical activity to strengthen muscles 5. Avoid too much phone 6. Avoid too much time on couch, use pillows for back support

I became quite lazy over the past few months I’ve never practiced good posture and noticed the top of my spine is quite curved and my head juts out, I spend a lot of time in bed as I’m not working so always on my phone with my spine bent, one morning I rolled over and my back just went I immediately felt dizzy and sharp back pain in the upper back I could barely move, after that I noticed my neck was stiff and sore as well as my shoulder blades, it has got a bit better and over the past 2 days I’ve been straightening my back and neck out as well as doing neck stretches I’ve found it’s helped quite a lot I was able to go out a full day today and feel good, I still get a few random spells but (touch wood) not as bad as it has been anyone else had the same thing my anxiety only makes it worse but does anyone think this is likely cervical vertigo as I have all common symptoms of cervical vertigo
@physiotipswithmarrow58362 ай бұрын
It very well could be based on those symptoms. Best of luck.

I noticed that straining always makes my off balance feeling worse, for instance, after a day of heavy lifting I typically wake up the next day extremely tight and feeling worse. Would you say that this is a factor that can make it worse?
@physiotipswithmarrow583611 ай бұрын
Yes. I have seen many patients where their incident that led to dizziness was related to working out in the gym.

I've been going to PT and doing the exercises at home as well. My therapist has been very good in figuring out what I can and can't do and making a program to help me. I'm a dog groomer, work has been awful. Now I put my grooming table up high so I am not as bent over. I'm only doing one or two dogs a day because it still triggers the problem and I feel I will faint. My neck is gradually getting stronger and I am better than I was.

Thank you so much for your videos. The changes in my cervical spine have caused pain, dizziness, and trouble with my right arm and leg so I haven’t been able to drive and now use a cane. I am researching PT options and Orthopedic Specialists in my city. Any recommendations on sleeping positions to either attempt or avoid? Thank you!

Side sleeping on medium firm pillow, or back sleeping on softer pillow. No stomach sleeping. Go with the one that feels the best.
@mariettelobo67228 ай бұрын
So what about daily sleep? Is it ok to do this?! I wouldn’t want to wake up to get up every half hour!
@physiotipswithmarrow58368 ай бұрын
Just a suggestion for day time hours. The idea being that sitting all day will lead to a stiff neck and laying down extra hrs during a normal day will eventually lead to a weaker and more painful spine. Hope that helped and thanks for watching.
