Not related to this video but I was cooking dinner and randomly thought of you 😂 when you go on your normal (not moving to Indonesia 😂) family trips do you do an Airbnb and cook at home or do you mostly go out? I absolutely dread eating out even though I really also hate cooking lol (but mostly because I have too many kids 😅) I guess it could be related because at different ages they eat differently too. Like my “I don’t like anything” 4yo right now.

Aww! I’ve wondered for a while how I might make a travel video on eating on the road… but it would be a work in progress because I definitely haven’t figured it out yet! Indonesia was a special situation where we had our meals included (cooked for us) with our homestays - it’s a very particular setup in the region of Raja Ampat for tourists. But usually I prefer airbnbs and making our own food!

I wanted to try the inflatable foot rest because my daughter (2) does not like her car seat on the airplane. We use the CARES harness for her, but she does not like her feet and lower legs dangling off the airplane seat. Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines don’t allow inflatables. Since you have so much experience, what do you suggest? What kind of hacks can I use to make my daughter more comfortable? I’m just looking for something to support her feet, not so much for sleep.

Have you considered a makeshift hammock? You could bring a thin baby blanket (or even a wide scarf), tie two corners of it to the sides of the tray table and tie the other two sides to her seat belt (or clip with clothes line clips). So you don't have to spend money or break any rules, but her feet won't be dangling.
