I don't drink but I learned to love coolers in the heat, floating on a raft reading a book, and I was thrilled with the camping neighbors that were always so friendly, helpful and fun.

You could always get a travel trailer. They have some that have a bunk house in the back and a bedroom in the front. Also the ones with a bunk house usually also have a outdoor kitchen. That would also mean you’d have a vehicle to go drive around town instead of having to pack up the whole motor home and worry about finding parking.

Wow!! This trip has really shown how much Abbie has grown over the past few years. Only 1 meltdown during the whole RV trip just by itself is something to celebrate!! She also dealt with a something new, long stretches in the RB while driving, sleeping some place else (even if it was in your bed with you guys), new people, hiking in the rain on unstable ground (which is HUGE for her), and so much more!! I would say this trip was a huge success for all of you but especially for Abbie. Also, what a great way to spend time with your family and experience something new together!! I also said something on another video about trying a 5th wheel. This way there is no drivers seat. It is towed by a car so you would have the car for traveling and a 5th wheel as your home base. It would help with her wanting to go during each transition.

Scenery that Isaiah would love to photograph and he even can take a sight seeing helicopter . Fall is nice too.

I love your RV trip. We have a special needs son that is 15. He is similar to Abbie but also has LGS ( the worst epilepsy you can have). I totally agree with you about getting your kids out to see the world. We have done a lot of RV outings with our son. That his teacher has said "I wish I could travel like you do." Some things we have to keep in mind are. 1. closest emergency 2. Giving him the rest that he needs, (knowing his limits). 3. Adjusting your schedule to meet his needs. 4. Making sure you have there emergency meds.( my son doesn't have meltdowns but he does have seizures that we have to pull over and maybe administer medication for). I would very much encourage you to get an RV

This is why I watch you guys, you bring laughter and joy and always positivity which is so much needed in this world right now. I’m so proud of Abbie for getting on top of that bunkbed, I can only imagine how scary that is for somebody who has sensory issues especially with ceilings. That is a mile stone for sure! I am also so proud of Priscilla for doing that hike, and she rocked it! You guys all rocked it, minus poor Isaiah’s dirt in the 👁 incident, poor guy. Hope it’s better! Being an owner of a RV park, we get Cruise America rentals daily, and they do offer great customer service but like Asa said, it’s not cheap! A few trips in a cruise America and you could own your own RV! I do think a Class C

There are so many options of floor plans for RVs. You could always get a big truck and then tow an rv. We have a 5th wheel we tow that has a room for my husband and I on one end and a room with bunks for our boys on the other. The middle is open living space with slide outs. The slide outs give so much more room when you are parked.
@1mama4024 жыл бұрын
We have a 37 foot Class A Motorhome with two slide outs. It’s very spacious and allows us to even travel with our dog which is nice. I honestly do not love camping, it’s a LOT of work but it is really great family time so it’s worth it. I think you guys should consider a travel trailer so you can unhitch and go sightseeing in your own vehicle verses taking the entire RV. Also, that might create the separation Abbie needs to understand that you won’t be driving away after each transition. She will know it’s time to drive because you guys will leave the trailer and get into the truck.

I can totally see your family traveling in your own RV. When you pick one out, look carefully at floorplans to find what would be best suited for your family. I think when Abbie has her own familiar place in the RV, it will seem like home to her and she'll be comfortable. The other advantage to having your own RV versus renting is that you can fill the RV with your own things to make your time traveling easier. Great job everyone!

We are leaning towards a future truck and trailer purchase. A plus with travel trailers is you can leave the trailer if you want to day-trip from campsite or if one person wants to stay back and nap, or if one person wants to run an errand ...you have options. Also RVs can have a TON of bugs to work out (we are researching them) with a lot of warranty service required from a variety of manufacturers. Maybe the truck would be a regular family vehicle which might help Ab make the distinction between camping and go time. Also the pickup could be an alternative sleep spot for a light sleeper.😴

I would suggest a little bit bigger RV with slide outs. We have a 2000 34ft with 1 slide out. We've tried them all. Works like a charm. Best $12,000.00 investment we've made. The slide out expands the living- kitchen area. Makes soo much more room and comfort. We have a love seat, recliner, and table-bed area. Plus passenger seat spins all the way around. You can sit in that seat all the time Abby. Queen bed in back, table turns into full bed. Love seat a big twin bed. We looked for a yr. Bought it off a elderly couple, retiring from camping. Ours is a Joyco built by the Amish people. All we've done to it was new tires. Hope this helps.
