If Goku has to fight the bad dad allegations even after being good to Goten and dying for Gohan twice, Vegeta doesn't get to slide guilt-free either. Just like he had a lot of work to do to atone for the innocent lives he took in the past, he has to do more good parenting to make up for his earlier bad parenting. He is on the right track for doing this, though.

Another point I see on how he's a bad father is the cell saga. Pretty much after he fought Cell, he was really giving Gohan enough time to study his fighting patterns. When he tags out and lets Gohan fight him, he is under the impression that Gohan is a fighter like him and can actually get the job done. (Now granted he can, in fact he did, but one thing we have to point out is that Gohan isn't like Goku.) So when Goku gave Cell the senzu bean, he was trying to let Gohan fight Cell at full strength. However, Goku realizes he fucked up when Gohan isn't fighting him and learns that he's not like him. He literally ASKS Krillin for a SENZU BEAN, so he can aid his son through the fight. This man sacrifices himself AGAIN for the THIRD time and at that point, he realized that he is the problem. He stayed dead because he wanted the earth and he wanted his children to have normal and safe lives. Is he a PERFECT father? NO, in fact no father is perfect, even if they're good or bad, but he is certainly not a devil of a father. You niggas are reaching with this whole he's a bad father or y'all are literally thinking that the TFS parody is the canon. It has to be one of the two, bruh.

Bro, you need to understand, Goku's main reason for training isn't because of threats to the planet it's because of his need to fight stronger opponents, the anime misconstrued that which Toriyama himself dislikes. At the end of Z if you remember, Goku left everyone just to train a kid he just met under the guise of raising a new protector and that could be part of it, but really, as vegeta stated, just he wants the challenge.
