Cheap knives aren't necessarily bad. If you can learn to throw with small lightweight knives, then when you upgrade to bigger better knives, you will be much better. But even then, better off practicing with screwdrivers, paint scrapers, scissors, steak knives which are cheaper.

This is why I like the construction nails. Cheap and easy to throw. I'm getting better lol. So 20cm is almost 8in. Sounds good! That 2nd and 3rd didn't seem too bad. It would be better if they didn't have those gaps in them at least. I wonder if the "wings" on the last one helped with stability. Pros and cons I guess. The main con seems to be weight. Great video Adam!
@AdamCeladin4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Joey, yeah they could been much better if the weight, lenght would be different minus those holes hehe :D

What I do, is get some mild steel 1/2 inch round stock at the hardware store, cut it into 1 foot sections, and sharpen both ends of each piece. Make them with angles, like a pyramid for a point, not a cone, they throw amazing. I call them devastators, because how quickly they destroy targets. You can split boards with them, and they don't really wear out.

@Vinnay944 жыл бұрын
I've had knives similar to the last ones and the extra side blades actually help the knife rotate more efficiently through the air over longer distances maintaining momentum where as the other knives would start to lose momentum over longer distances due to the unsymmetrical shape. Of course, the last knives like you demonstrated are terrible for no spin.

Hey man, ya probably already made a vid with screwdrivers but if ya didn't you should. I find they're an excellent way for new throwers to get a feel for rotation spinning considering the incredible off balance. Myself I've stuck anything from a torx to the #3 Robertson. I have a question/idea. Is there any chance you will do a combative test video at some point? There is a difference between throwing for sport (just getting it to stick) and throwing to fight (attempting to get the most penetration or damage possible to the target). I would love to see your take on throwing knives, axes, etc, that work best for sport, combat, or both. Just an idea.

I have a question to you since you featured beginners knives here I bought fairly cheap throwing spikes off amazon (18€ for 3) with one weighing ~60g. Ive been practicing the past week 3hrs/day and can confidently stick around 95% of my throws. BUT all of my throws are low range (~3m) and when I try to throw from 4 meters I basically stick nothing unless I do really awkward slow, high angeled throws. I tried throwing half spin and that works fairly okay on distances higher than 3m but nospin is super tough. Do you think a heavier spike would fix that problem since I can adjust its flight better or is it technique that needs improvement?
@leynin92864 жыл бұрын
Everything above 3 meters with nospin is more of a "Yeet" than a "throw" so they lack a lot of power since they fly so slowly and are so light
