I agree but problem just because I really don't like his "style" of humor. I laughed a few times during some of his movies but any comedy can normally make you laugh a bit unless it's just that bad. I've seen other comedies that I found MUCH funnier than anything he has done.

Truly a heinous film. Although i find myself in agreement with Hal, at least as far as #1 'worst' goes. Personally, I did enjoy the Mask, while I think that Son of the Mask might be THE worst movie ever. That having been said, Dumb and Dumber is my favorite comedy of all time, it never gets old to me. So, for me, the larger disparity occurs between Dumb and Dumber (A+) and Dumb and Dumberer (D), as opposed to the Mask (B) and Son of the Mask (D-).

I hate the movie going public... and even if we all revolt they'll all say "That's your opinion!" when it isn't, opinion is what you like not what is actually good. And a film's quality is the truth, whether you like it or not. Hollywood is so broken right now and movies will never go back to the way they were if we stay at the rate we're going. If someone has seen Little Fockers but hasn't seen Raging Bull, something is clearly wrong. We are desensitizing humans with these shameless cash grabs, and this video is a prime example of that. Film has the power to inspire and almost all the people it Hollywood look at it as a worthless product to make money. Jeremy from CinemaSins said it best when he said "I bet you'd fuck a zebra on camera if it meant you'd get money." People need to study the classic films from the dawn of cinema to the end of the 20th century to know what a great movie is. I've met people who refuse to watch black and white movies just because they're black and white, and that's just sad. We are in a dark age of cinema and it takes a true cinephile like myself to know that. One big change we need to make is the switch from digital to film. Digital should be for public use like phone cameras, but professionals who plan to make a real movie should use film. But anyway, the point of this is we need to save the art of cinema from this dark age it's in so every film made will be an iconic piece of art. I know we can do it.

When you said "Blues Brothers 2000," all I could feel was horror. That movie was horrendous, and should be erased from cinema history. John Landis had long lost his magic by then, and that movie shows it. Beverly Hills Cop III is quite bad too with Landis also at the helm. And yeah, I can't disagree about the Hangover sequels. The Matrix sequels of comedy is quite apt.

The Jerk, Too. Pure excrement. I get that Ray Walston still needed to pay his rent, but wow. It's pretty telling that The Jerk gets run on TV probably once a month (or more). "The Jerk, Too" has probably not been run on TV more than once a decade since it's release.

I enjoyed all three The Hangover movies. The first was the best, the second was just as good, and although the third (with the exception of the giraffe scene) wasn't really funny, what made me like it was how it tied in with the previous two movies, and ended the franchise on a happy note :)

Very few comedies really compete for an oscar. Jim Carrey, who's a terrific comedian (Adam Sandler doesn't reach to his heels in that regard), was never nominated, not even for the Truman Show. He DID win 4 Golden Globes though.

I absolutely agree with Dumb & Dumberer. Tenoriginal is one of the all time best in it's genre. Growing up watching it really made loathe the sequel. Jim Carrey ad Jeff Daniels could not have made better characters, they were perfect. However, the new guys were a humungous let down. The guy that played Lloyd (I do like him on NCISLA) did a pretty good job acting as Jim Carrey's character but when someone, like Carrey, makes a character so perfect no one should mess with it. The first one is gold

Other than the ones already mentioned? Austin Powers Goldmember, Scary Movie 3, Caddyshack 2, so many to choose from. For me personally, I think it'd be Clerks 2. It wasn't as fun as the original, and had too many not-that-great scenes drawn out. Yes, it was more grown up - and had to be - but it gets ruined by being too over-the-top with the donkey scene; there could have been something much more funny while still being perverse. I hope Clerks 3 redeems it.
