Worst Day in El Salvador's Surf Beach!! 🇸🇻(El Tunco)

It is a fact that El Tunco Beach in El Salvador is one of the most famous beaches in the country and is one of the top surfing spots in El Salvador and all over Central America.
That makes it a place that of course attracts many tourists and that is great for the local economy and growth!!
Although I generally do not like tourist places, I decided to take a local bus from San Salvador, head to El Tunco and spend 1-2 nights there as everyone had already suggested it to me!!
The funny thing was that it turned out to be one of the worst decisions I have made so far and so I found myself returning to the capital only after spending a few hours in El Tunco, ha.
As you will see in the video the whole day was very negative for me haha ​​and many different reasons made me regret going there.
After hours of searching, I did not find a cheap hostel with dorms to spend the night.
All hostels or hotels had private rooms from $ 35-150 per night. For someone traveling for 1-2 weeks it may seem like a reasonable price.
Unfortunately for me, as a backpacker and traveler trying to capture as many videos as possible on a budget, I can not afford to pay too much for accommodation as this will shorten my travel days and mean fewer videos to shoot. .
(I will only pay too much if the hotel I live in can be a video itself)
On top of that, haha ​​the night before I went out to a party, and so I woke up tired and that's a red flag for shooting a vlog hah !! Honestly it was a bad day for me and I never planned to post this video because it was below my standards and because it was not as I expected!
However I thought that because my vlogs are all raw and without much editing, it might be fair for all of you to also see the full picture of my travels haha ​​which means that some days you do not have the same energy as always and also things can evolve different from what you expected.
This is all the beauty of travel and I decided to share both sides with you!!

Dude I just left El Puerto de La Libertad, just a few kilometres away, and it's much less touristy and more interesting than El Tunco. Accommodation still wasn't all that cheap but cheaper than Tunco

We didn't even bother going to the beach the beauty of el salvador is in the hills with the friendly locals! All the locals we befriended told us how typical tourists completely ignore them all and don't even spark conversations etc etc which is sad, there missing out on what the country is all about! Keep it up mate!

Great video Timmy! Tunco beach is kind of expensive Im not going to lie to you. They have a lot of tourist prices everywhere on everything and I can only imagen how the locals feel about those prices. Mainly it's because of the tourisms that the prices are like that and when they see that you are a foreigner then they try to charge you more. To me that place is a tourist trap but the night life is always fun at some of those restaurants/bars. The average price for a room is $35 out of all the times that I have been there is 35 bucks or more to stay and that's a small room no AC just a fan. Wish things like this would change it should be more convenient for everyone to come stay but aye at least you got to visit and enjoy the area soak up some sun.

You need to get out of Tunco. All the better prices are in Libertad and/or other beaches to the east/west. Tunco is purely a beach for the turistas.

The beach is black because el salvador does not have access to the Caribbean they only have the pacific ocean, the sand is black because its volcanic Black is also beautiful🌊 Let’s not be racist😂 , but that does not mean hotels will be cheap just because of the sand $100 bucks is not bad i have been to the carribean and paid $600-$700for a room if you want white sand and top notch service. The main attraction there is for surfers there is also lots of cliffs and beautiful places even with the dark sand

I have been in Caribbean too and I paid $18😂 hahah but in a hostel with many people in the room. Agree 100% with u Eve - 100 Dollars is not very expensive for a descent hotel especially in front of a beach either it is Carribean or Black volcanic one. In my country Greece the prices are way more ridiculous high during the high season. But I personally can’t afford not even 30$ per night because Im traveling many months and I live of my savings- Less money I spend per day = more days of travel = more videos I can create. That’s why I decided to go back to the capital. But if I was traveling for 5-10 Days - I wanted to have some quality vacations then I would be definitely staying in private rooms instead of Full packed Dorms haha

EL TUNCO beach is totally overrated, beach is full of rocks, expensive prices. The only good thing is the "beach party atmosphere" but you can find that in better places with better beaches. Not worth it.
