This is not the worst part, the worst part is when the office calls you back the day after cause the first one wasnt done well.. Asked the dentist 5 times if it was good, my suspicion was right unfortunately.

My dentist told me that when you feel like gagging simply move your head downwards like kind of touching your chest and move forward a bit and to distract yourself, move your feet like up and down. And it actually WORKED!! 😃👍 also take deep breaths

What i did to reduce the nausea is to seat incline to the front, i don't know why, but when the impression is taken with my head totally leaned backwards like in the video i feel like if i was drowning and that activates my nausea reflex, i discover that is better for me if i get up and look to the ground while i bite the mouth piece, that somehow makes me feel less nausea.

My orthodontist, bless her heart, she gave me a plastic grocery bag to throw up in if i needed to. I hope she gets everything she wants in life, she deserves the world

I hope all that went smoothly and without complications, if you ever need to take impressions again and you don't want to feel naudea ask your dentist if you can have the impression while looking to the ground and front, do that wjile breathing through your nose and that maybe reduce the nausea. That help me a lot.

It never happened to me personally BUT it happened once to a poor kid who was sitting next to me during a ortho appt. Kid was getting molded like this, gagged, threw up, it was all over the wall and it even got on one of the orthos 💀 poor kid

Just had upper and lower impressions done this morning using the goo trays. They let me set up straight almost during the process. No leaning back needed. That helped a lot. I got the impressions done without too much problem. Distraction is a good thing, plus they used a shot or two of numbing spray n the back of my throat to prevent the possiblity of the "yak" happening. I did ok for the 3 mintues each time while the stuff set up. When it was over with, I was proud of myself for not hurling on the doc.

Am I the only one who felt extremely nauseous and had a bad taste in mouth after doing this and that feeling lasted a WHOLE DAY for me. Idk if it’s normal or not but I’m definitely never doing this again tho 😅

broo i had to do it and i was panicking bc i am rlly scared of throwing up and chocking so i felt like the stuff was going down my throat and i was like hyperventilating and i grabbed the ladies arm bc girl 😭 and she was like “let go of my arm” and it was embarrassing 🥰

3rd world countries poor people haven't even visited a dentist once in their whole lifetime, so be thankful that you have an opportunity to do so😢 They usually suffer silently, coz it's either a few months worth of food on the table or one single tooth root canal operation. So sad 😢
