The Pakistani elite behave like sultans, they think they don’t need to pay any taxes. The common class won’t protest bec they are too immersed in religion at the cost of evrything else. So then why would any govt care? So there is no chance of corruption ending, infact it is only increasing bec of public apathy. Frankly the people of Pakistan don’t come across as civilized or having any concern for fellow citizens or having any sense of propriety. Pakistan was never a nation since it came into being. The people in charge since 1947 have been complete misfits. They don’t have any sense of governance, self respect, teamwork, and evrything else. Evrything about Pakistan is very shameful.

If Pakistan indulge in imported consumption, finances will automatically become weak. Pakistan consumes more per capita oil than india. IMF is not there to fund Pakistan current account deficit. IMF role is to solve liquidity crisis where due to circumstance your asset value becomes less than liability and temporarily country is unable to meets its obligation. once normal condition is returned, country pays back the loan from IMF. But IMF cannot solve solvency crisis. IMF is not there to provide money to fund pakistan imports. how long will pakistan fool IMF and other institutions. Pakistan imported consumption must fall by half to balance current account. given pakistan economy is two third dependant on imports, economy must shrink by 33%. Else pakistan must take real reforms like free floating exchange rate which will balance the excess instantaneously because now you can spend what you have earned, remove protectionism, encourage entrepreneurship which means free and fair practices, not supporting people aligned with political parties, Open up resources for export like mining to foreign companies. IMF will not support pakistan on its merry ways. IMF does not want its money spent without any purpose
