I agree. I think that on a lot of this she may be right but a couple of them were more perhaps that they didn't match her skin tone. You have to buy eye shadow to match your coloring and find what flatters you the best!

My DM palette was outstanding! Very nice investment in my opinion, it is mentioned that the middle row is more of a topper, it looks incredible layered on a base especially colorfix

The middle row is more of a water activated liner, so it is meant to be used with adding water to it.

Hi suzie! I did specify this was my opinion, I’ve had this palette for a while now and I love every single shade! If you weren’t satisfied with it honestly it’s not my problem and as I said before mine is outstanding. The water activated liners are meant to be layered on a colorfix or by themselves as shown in various tutorials and the chrome flakes require a bit of warning up and stretching but once you’ve gotten the hang of it they are amazing!

I second this. It’s currently my most expensive palette and absolutely worth it as long as you read the description of the products, not a beginner product in any way and it takes some tweaking (just like her chrome flakes). The silicone brush trick actually works wonders for the chrome flakes, the two middle shades need to have the top layer broken in before using them. Haven’t gotten around to trying the eyeliners, but some videos said you spray the pan 3 times, wait for it to get damp then start swirling. Leaving this here for whoever might need advice on using the palette.

I use various colourpop eyeshadow palettes and some do crease!! But if you get a eyeshadow primer (I use the Milani one) then they don't crease! The Milani eyeshadow primer is only abt $6 maybe more I can't remember but it's cheap and it works really well for me!

Same! I use the discontinued Huda concealer to prime my eyes and some Sephora setting spray and they stay all day! It really depends on weather too cause on humid days it doesn’t matter what I use it’s gonna crease.

I have hooded eyes and I use the discontinued E.L.F. Mint melt primer for eyes and face, let it sit for like 2-3 min, blot off excess, then use a setting powder, again, for both eyes and face, let sit for 2-3 brush off excess and all my colourpop pallets barely crease. They do if it’s humid outside in the summer or if it’s a precipitous day, but they’re generally pretty good for the price

Never understood the creasing eyeshadow argument. Makeup is going to look like makeup not skin. I've always used cheap makeup my whole life and never noticed any sort of "creasing" that wasn't just my eyelid. Idk who's tripping but its gotta be one of us

I have been a huge fan of essence because they perform really well for their price point, which lets me experiment with different colors so i know what colors I need to buy really good quality shadows of. I have a weird olive undertone, so I struggle with intuitively knowing what colors work well on me. Especially because my undertone changed from a sickly olive to a way healthier olive coloration, meaning colors that used to look amazing on me no longer do or even outright look bad.

Okay, I have the "I like to mauve it mauve it" one, I also have the "Coral me maybe" and "taupe it up", they work great for me personally :) (the colours are purple, pink, and gray respectively)

The shades in that row of the DM pallet are water activated… which is why most people think they don’t work well or have any pigments but it’s user error the majority of the time…

Everyone I have watched who used the DM palette loved it. The middle row are topper shades. They aren’t meant to be used alone. It’s also her chrome flakes formula and a ton of people don’t know how to actually use them. 😂😂😂

The Danessa myricks palette is actually my favorite palette. I don't use the water activated shades, but I do use the pressed chrome flakes, I had to warm them up, but I love them🤷‍♀️ I also really love the gel chrome flakes

Some people need to realize that just bc a palette swatches well doesn't mean it translates to the eyelids the same. For one, when we swatch we are inevitably pressing harder thus getting more pigment out of the palette and into our arm, so ofc the colors will look a lot better there than on the eyes for some palettes. And also, creasing exists. Patchiness when blending exist too. And either way, these are her personal opinions idk why some of yall are so pressed down here

I actually really like those Huda palettes - I have two of them one in the purple and one in green. The shimmers are amazing. The colours are bright and bold. You just need to USE A WET BRUSH. Then you can use them as eyeliners as well and they stay all day! Just use a puddle of your saline solution, eye drops, (because those are both sterile) or plain tap water and apply over your blended base by drawing or pressing in the colour. Boom - boldness.

It looked good on her even though she didn't build it up like she builds up every other eyeshadow. I own it and think it's really pretty. Something smells fishy.

I’ve been so torn on the Danessa pallet but tbh it could just be an issue with using too little or too much water. I use a lot of water activated products so I know how difficult it can be to find that balance.

Those swtches might look pretty But she has been testing them out hopefully saying how they're used they are patchy creased terribly set terribly and don't last as well as other ones do I've had lots of palates look amazing at 1st on swatches then end up being absolute s*** after wearing them for like an hour And I've had pilots that I've used to look amazing for like a few hours and then not last very well Like they get so bad I just have to wash off only makeup since I can't deal having the eye look anymore

I dunno. Her palettes, and other products I have seen, are overpriced. I'm happy to pay $60-ish for a palette I want but it kinda ends there for me. I mean, they aren't adding magic or stem cells to their palettes Lol or something that different than ANY other brand. Of course, you could argue it's worth it because you think they are unique or innovative. The brand does make gorgeous shadows though, can't deny that. Have you tried any Blend Bunny Cosmetics palettes? They're an indie brand and I bought one of their palettes last year and I've since bought 2 more. They are so pretty and so quality. I'm kinda bummed that I have so many other inferior eyeshadow palettes in my collection now.

Why do you have to use it a specific way? Because that's literally how all products work? You can't put foundation on your lips and then call it a bad product because it doesn't look the same as lipstick, and you didn't read the instructions but just want to "use it how you want" 🤦🏽‍♀️
