Hi Chai, We have always found the Thai people to be very helpful when we have been on holidays there, even with the language barrier. Looking forward to your series on Indonesia, as we will be heading back there in February :)

Enjoyed the Thai guy speaking great English considering he doesn’t deal with foreigners often. Totally agree Thai humour is not sarcasm, Americans also don’t get sarcasm. Thank you

There was a tall girl in a black cocktail dress leaning against the railing at the Erawan Mall and I thought this was a perfect opportunity to meet a beautiful Thai woman and we struck up a conversation. Her voice was a little deeper than I expected but everything was great and we decided to meet up to have dinner later that evening. During dinner I noticed how attractive she was and we laughed about our personal stories and had a few more drinks than I planned. After dinner she suggested we go for a walk and since it was late it was cool and we strolled down Sukhumvit Rd.

I’m 43 and was looking into moving there at some point when my husband and I retire. He’s younger only 37. He was all annoyed by it. I told him you do whatever you want then lol. I know we can legally buy a condo there and I don’t intend on staying in the USA forever. My great grandparents all came from Norway and Finland and I have no interest in staying in the Minnesota my whole life when I’ve traveled to South Korea and other asian countries. Love this video.

Another mistake foreigners make is going shirtless in public. I think most Thais don't like that type of behavior in public.

Don’t go shirtless in city. Local Thai go shirtless at home, you might see uncle/grandpa in some shop house without shirt mostly outskirts or rural Thailand.

when traveling on the bus ive witnessed alot of travelers put their feet up - despite signs saying "no feet"-- which is seen as very disrespectful in Thailand. also if youre a man- try to add KHAP at the end of basic greetings - ( not KA, which is what women will want to use ) -- The spoon is the main utensil in thailand- the fork should never go in your mouth - its more like shovel dont use big bills to buy cheap things- especially if the vendor appears to be financially distressed...and dont get ripped off!

I am interested in knowing if Thailand is tackling it's garbage problem, and use of plastics? It's harmful to the environment and to the health of the people to eat so much food out of disposable plastics. We saw foreigners and locals littering and it is just such a shame for such a beautiful country. Education and Pride and Respect for the country.

It’s a difficult issue :( it’s doing better than most countries in South East Asia but there are many remote parts where they still burn it and dump it in forests and water.

Thai people well understand that visitors won't know all the rules so most faux pas would be not bother most people. They do expect people to dress appropriately when visiting places of worship, many will provide you with shawls and wraps for your bare shoulders and thighs but non-touristy temples won't have them. Buying Buddhas for decoration is very much frowned upon. There are vendors who will sell you buddha statuettes without batting an eyelid but everybody else would be irritated if they see you buying Buddhas.
