This whole thing felt like an MMO designed by an A.I., like you've told a computer what an MMO is but not why they're fun.
Champions of Regnum is a very, very poor MMO.

What shocks me most is how these games manage to last enough for certain people to be of high enough level to be able to clown on you.

It's interesting that they chose to use grey for their textureless models. Most Devs choose a Pink, Green, checker or other to help them notice when there's a texture issue.

Having played this game for about 2-3 hours, the takeaway vibe I got from it was "This feels like an MMO being played by characters in a movie written, directed, and starring people who have literally never played a video game before in their life, but have seen what other movies think an MMO is, and base their whole shit off that."

As a Linux gamer myself, I find it disappointing that I've been wasting my time in Star Wars The Old Republic when I could've spent it playing this high quality and immersive MMORPG for Linux.

The mysterious noises, BTW, sound like the kind of pure white noise you get when you play back a misencoded sample --- like it's actually an MP3 but someone told the game it was a WAV. Given the general level of quality here that might actually be the case.

From my experience on working on a sound engine in the past, these loud noises right after loading might be related to the game trying to play a sound cue at a specific position in the world, without knowing the position of the player (the sound engine hasn't caught up yet). In this case, the engine does not know how loud it should play this sound, so it just defaults to 100% volume, blasting sound directly to your ears.

This game was my first mmo ever, i played it when i was 12 more or less, at that time it was called Regnum Online only, it was free with just cosmetic shop. 2 years later they introduced the loot boxes and the game start going down, every high lvl player had very broken items, and it was imposible to play. Also, at one time the max lvl was 50, but with an update, the max lvl became 60 and the company forced you to pay exp scrolls because the last 5 or 3 lvls were imposible to reach. I played during 6 o 7 years and i quit. Once upon a time, was a funny game

I love how buying the premium currency is the same experience as when you go to a bar and try to order a drink. One time I was at a fucking Applebees and I asked what the price was for a drink and the waiter just raised his eyebrows and then laughed in my face. Thats pretty much the feeling I get seeing that cash shop screen.
