I suffered a similar injury while in the army. I tore my ACL, PCL and LCL as well as a fracture of the head of my distal femur when my L knee dislocated. Took me over a year and a half to come back from it after multiple surgeries and intense physical therapy. Funny thing is, I’m a die hard Clippers fan and saw Shaun Livingston’s injury on live tv. Then years later, mine happened.

So you see a Shaun Livingston type injury where you have so little time to correct it without amputating. You see the Kevin Ware, Gordon Hayward, and Paul George injuries which sort of seemed like the leg just snapped. They being just so horrific and terrible to watch because of the proximity of the fans but along with the Shaun Livingston injury just being so gruesome. The Joe Theismann and Alex Smith injury as well which was and can be potentially career ending for Alex Smith. How do the 3 different injuries compare? I think that would make it a pretty cool video if you could somehow explain how Shaun Livingston came back after his leg could have been amputated to Alex Smith's injury being potentially career ending and somehow a wraparound to the Ware, Hayward, George injury. They are some of the worst I have seen and I think a lot of people would love to learn more about them! Thanks again for an awesome video!
@69ER5096 жыл бұрын
Joint injuries are more dangerous than bone factures. Soft tissue is much harder to heal properly. In fact some of the soft tissue in the knee doesn't even heal so it has to be trimmed off if injured because it doesn't receive blood flow by design... Bone fractures do look terrible but our body is a bad ass at healing bone fractures for the most part. You're talking from a visual stand point he is talking from a medical stand point.

Hey man, personal question for you. I sprained my ankle about a year and a half ago, nothing serious, was on crutches for about 2 weeks, but I sprained it again about a month after. I was told to be on crutches for a month, but as it was coming up on rugby season, I ditched them after two weeks to start training. Since then, my ankle has slightly limited movement and still hurts occasionally when I put strain on it. Any tips on what to do so that I can have my full range of motion back?
@usmell4486 жыл бұрын
Logan MacMaster to be honest you shouldn’t have ditched the crutches. I understand as I’m an athlete as well, but if you don’t let yourself heal, it can have permanent effects. It doesn’t sound too bad, and I’m not a doctor, but I would recommend visiting one
@usmell4486 жыл бұрын
Also if possible, make small movements every now and then until it hurts. Then, keep going until it doesn’t hurt to move and full motion maybe can return.

literally just last December I had an injury kind of similar to this one. I came down from a block while playing and just landed incorrectly, one leg crossed behind the other as my body weight came down, and my whole femur snapped. came down to the ground and opened my eyes, and although the upper part of my leg was completely straight, my femur had broken so terribly that my straight leg actually ended up with my foot crossed over my body to my waist. crazy stuff, but thankfully I’m walking already. thanks for the in-depth explanation, learned a lot about what could have went so much worse
