@blahorgaslisk77634 жыл бұрын
I have an issue with it! It's sloppy and if you fill it all the way it can be tricky to place it in the fridge. Something with a lid on it would go a long way to making it better. As of now I use ice bags that has compartments that forms separate ice cubes when frozen. They are disposable so not really a good alternative but they are easy to use and doesn't have to be placed carefully in the freezer so they are perfectly flat.
@freshbloominclothing4 жыл бұрын
I surprisely have issues with an ice cube tray. My hands have issues includes shaking and loss of sensation. I only fill up my trays half full because of the fact that I'll shake and lose half the water any way. My husband bought me oversized silicone trays and they are quite wobbly and I still lose half the water. I've tried trays with lids but I can not usually get the lid down properly.
@rdizzy14 жыл бұрын
@@freshbloominclothing Well his statement is more along the lines of "who has issues with ice cube trays that can be solved by these inventions" Most of these wouldn't help you, even with half filled trays you get just as much ice if not more than these, they always come with over complicated ways of filling them, or over complicated ways to get the ice broken lose to get it out, issues closing them or screwing the caps on and off, etc,etc.

Biodegradable doesn’t mean dissolves in water. If you were to throw that out, it would be eaten by microbes in the landfill. Or you can compost it.
@blahorgaslisk77634 жыл бұрын
Back in the late 70's or early 80's a kind of plastic beer bottle was introduced that was supposed to be bio degradable. I remember this as at the time beer cans were still made out of steel and you could often find them rusting away in the bushes where some people tended to throw them. These new beer bottles was supposed to help with this by breaking down quickly if they were thrown in nature. They were only available for a few years before they were phased out. A few years back I found a site where someone had put up pictures of one of these bottles that he had put in a flowerbed in his garden. He had taken one picture a year of it, and at the time there were more than ten years worth of pictures on the site, and it was already at least 15 years old on the first picture. Despite the bottle being marketed as being bio degradable it was still not showing any sign of breaking down even when it had been exposed to sun, rain and frost for at least 25 years. A few years later plastic bags made from corn starch became a thing. These were also touted as being bio degradable. And they were, it's just that it took several years for one to break down to a significant degree. The bags were available for a long time, but after the first two or three years the "bio degradable" part was toned down and disappeared from the marketing blurb. So just because someone says a plastic cup is bio degradable I'm not going to take their word for it.
@rogerszmodis4 жыл бұрын
@@blahorgaslisk7763 your examples are garbage early attempts from the 70s and a bag that takes a few years as opposed to hundreds or thousands? What other ridiculous opinions do you have? The way you think they work is dumber than soaking them in tap water hoping they will dissolve. There's a log in my back yard that's been there for years and is just starting to break down. According to you it isn't biodegradable.
@blahorgaslisk77634 жыл бұрын
@@rogerszmodis My point is that just because someone claims it's biodegradable it doesn't mean it actually is, or that it breaks down fast enough to make much of a difference. In the case of the cup tested you said it can be composted. Have you tested that? Did it work? How long did it take? If it took more than a year it's not something I'd like to have in my compost. If you use "bio degradable" as a selling point you better provide some info on just what time frame you are talking about. Oh and I've got one more example of a bio degradable product that didn't measure up. It was a toilet that collected the waste and sealed it in a pouch. The idea was that you could install a decent toilet where there were no plumbing, and you didn't need to install a septic tank. The sealed pouches meant that it was hygienic and odorless when handled. The big thing was that these poaches were bio degradable and it was recommended that you just dug them down and they would decompose in a year or two. An uncle installed one of these and used it for about six or seven years. He had a large field where he buried the waste as instructed and things was looking good. Now after he died his son was going to plow that field and discovered that not one of these stink bombs had deteriorated noticeably, and it was more than ten years since the last time any thing was buried there. Just because someone claims something is biodegradable doesn't mean shit. Except in this last case it really meant that the shit was still all fresh and gooey many years later.
@GwyndolinOwO4 жыл бұрын
@@blahorgaslisk7763 yeah i'd like it if it was at least honest like "hey if you bury this bag of shit, put it somewhere where you won't hit it because this takes aprox 100 years to decompose completely" or something like that. That way you can kind of sort things out. quickly bio degradable stuff can go in compose where this weird stuff that can take many years can be put somewhere where it won't get in the way. It also means that its not really a replacement for littering- which i think some people kind of get that idea. yeah- it might degrade in 25 years instead of 100 BUT animals and shit can still choke on it, which is still a huge issue with the ocean, and a lot of the people that buy these things at least want to help with that to some degree. SO i'd say they aren't "lying" but they are hyping things up too much to really matter like what you said before. its not really good for compose OR keeping animals out of danger so having "earth friendly" or "bio degradable" with no context just seems like a quick ad to me- and it works for a while.
@petrescuework-difficultcas65814 жыл бұрын
Same with "biodegradable" dog poo bags. People tend to just throw them in the woods as they think they will decompose and then you walk past these bags for the next decades. I once read an article about a person testing the biodegradability of different "biodegradable" poo bags. He buried them in his yard and got them out every several years to check on them. If I remember correctly the test was over 15 years by the time the article was written and there was no change in the bags at all. Sure, it might be that these plastics degrade over maybe 100 years. But it's definitely nothing you would wanna throw into your compost.

There is a learning curve and you do have to fish out the lid or just let it sink. The why behind the use is the most important part. It’s not just different from pulling the tab, it allows the aroma of the beverage to be smelled and not the lid, giving canned beer a metallic taste.

thank you James for reliving the 'worst' of 2020 - I enjoyed, again, some pleasant feelings for not wasting money on some of those "products"

Hi, How are you doing today? I am doing pretty good my self. I am glade to see that you are staying safe during the pandemic. I love the graphics that you have used in this video.

If you put ice cubes from the Ice Wizard into the flavor cup, then dump the power charger in it, you will get a perpetual energy machine that will rotate the swivel tray until the end of time.

The Right Cup, why not just drink La Croix or some other flavored non-sweetened sparkling water, it accomplishes the same thing, getting you to drink water, but La Croix actually has a bit of flavor.

Where’d you get your sunglasses? I’m a fan of round frames. Yours look pretty darn sweet!
