Looked him in the face. I said don't touch me again in a very clear and cold tone. He never came near my personal space again. It really isn't that hard. @rachelnaisbett403 While I really respect you for doing that and believe that's how all women should address these issues, you just gave me flashbacks to when a girl did something similar to me at work. I literally just did that thing where you put the flat of your foot on the back of someone's calf and apply a tiny bit of pressure to make their leg bend a little and she freaked tf out on me in front of customers. It was extremely demeaning and made me look like a fking villain when we had a friendly relationship up until she heard about me and this other girl from work not getting along. I respect people's boundaries, but you need to have an appropriate response to the action. Need to know the difference between when a guy is just paling around and when he's doing small sensual things to see how far he can push the envelope. Sometimes it's OK to just tell them politely, I do not like to be touched, please don't do that. Especially when it's a first time offense. @jpbproductions38724 жыл бұрын
I think the incident with one of the crew members didn’t actually happen. I think they realized that Dan had to be pulled before the finale because if he had made it to the finale, they would’ve had to have him at the finale becauseJeff would’ve had to say “this is the group that are left” like he does in the opening of the finale. So after Kellee left, everyone that was left was okay dealing with Dan being inappropriate if it meant they’d have a goat to take to the end. What missy and Elizabeth did is so so messed up, but let’s remember that the things he claimed he was doing DID happen to Kellee! These weren’t false accusations like many people are saying them to be-this man is a creep who after repeatedly being told “no”, continued to inappropriately touch Kellee. They did not ‘ruin his life’ HE DID Missy and Elizabeth embellished their own stake in the story, but the actions he committed, while not against them, still happened to Kellee. Missy and Elizabeth’s true crime is discrediting Kellee’s story, making her seem like a liar when she was incredibly uncomfortable with his behaviour.

This happens to women everyday. I remember being a server at a sushi resturant and having one chef coming up to me during every shift to talk. it started with friendly compliments.. then touching my shoulder.. then my waist. Trying to hug me. It always made me feel like i had a weight in my chest and a knot in my throat. The last straw was when he came up grabbing me from behind and gave me a kiss on the cheek as I was bussing a table (he was drunk). I felt so gross and belittled because I was a new server only 19 at the time and this is the head chef who has about 30 years older then me doing all this. I quit the same night.. when I explained why I was leaving, the owner said it was my fault for not telling the chef not to touch me.. 6 year later... it clicks.. why do I have to tell someone not to touch me.?

@EvilBadCat5 жыл бұрын
I'm just talking hypothetically and from experience: I can't help but think that maybe some of the other players (women included) didn't consider this, but for a survivor of a sexual assault, any unwanted touch in any case regardless of the intent is too much for them to be able to deal with. It might make them remember parts about their attack and as a result, consumes their thoughts and feelings for days or weeks. They shouldn't have to justify why they don't want to be touched either. Now, imagine if that happened on survivor and a woman didn't have any support to work through the feelings with someone they could trust talking to. So, perhaps Dan was a trigger but was too clueless to realize it and the other players (excluding Janet) were just as clueless to recognize what was actually going on.

Sometimes it is scarier to admit in front of the perpetrator that they have made you uncomfortable out of a fear of it coming back to bite you. Missy and Elizabeth weren’t ready to talk about what Dan had done to them at that time because they were confronted by something that could potentially be traumatic to relive. ANY woman can vouche for Missy and Elizabeth that if someone inappropriately touches you and then comes straight to you in the middle of the night asking if it was unwanted, of course they are going to downplay it so they don’t get hurt more. Kellee is my hero for speaking up, Janet is the friend you really need and it was admirable for her to seek the truth right when she was getting played. It is horrifying to watch Kellee’s interview with the production member and seeing the footage- what else did they need to see? Dan wasn’t respecting Kellee even after she asked him to stop several times and it was all on tape. To see Dan later act like he’s just the nicest guy ever is BS. Consent is easy, no means no. And if someone isn’t saying no I’m the moment, it doesn’t mean they wanted it. Always ask before you touch, if my 3 year old understands it then so should Dan. Also, he has a child, let’s not forget. BUT BEST MOMENT OF ALL OF THIS WAS JAMAL AT TRIBAL COUNCIL. He shut down Aaron’s ignorant remarks and gave a lesson about how men should react when they know a woman isn’t in a position of power to be heard. It made me cry listening to him stand up for all of them and I really think he should have won the game for this reason, and for the way he handled Jack.

rugr82day It’s because she was going after him in the game? Are you Braindead
@rugr82day5 жыл бұрын
@@justtrent9519 , no I'm not braindead, I'm observant. I've watched Survivor since the first season. I can tell when feelings go beyond the game. He did not view her as his enemy in the game like so many others when they say "you come for me, I come for you." Neither did I see him go around saying she's a threat and going to win. That was him sending her home like she was a trouble maker and pest. If she was such a trouble maker and pest then why couldn't he keep his hands off her? I'm free to draw my own conclusions. I don't know Tom but I bet you don't either. You think it was so cut and dry but life is never simple and neither are people.

This situation really pissed me off. These women had every opportunity, and every reason to nail him, but wouldn’t because it would mess with their gameplay. And two of them were leveraging it to get ahead...but they truly all kept their mouths shut to get ahead. Shit like this is why victims aren’t taken seriously.

Reminds me of some guys I went to college with. doesn't matter where they are if there are women around they will be testing the waters and seeing what they can get away with. If they are married or in a relationship even better for them because then they can be oh well I'm happily married you're crazy for thinking of this is weird. When a girl finally gives up and is broken down that's when they feel accomplished. What a gross old man

They will have to cancel it. There is no way they can ensure no one touches anyone else and that no one ever feel uncomfortable. This might be the thing that finally kills survivor. It had a good run.

The season following this was “winners at war” Richard Hatch explained how he was already invited, however he was removed from the cast as result of this season. If you recall he was accused by Sue of being “inappropriate”. Despite there being no evidence or any footage of such behaviour and all just speculation they still proceeded to remove Richard because of public perception. Just goes to show it doesn’t matter what is fact, it just matters what is perception.

Sad that these women felt afraid and/or nervous about speaking up. Sorry Dan, and any guys out there that think he did nothing wrong, but women shouldnt have to be the ones in the position to speak up. You should know as a man not to step over personal boundaries. Its sick especially in today's climate when it is clear as day that this is not acceptable as far as societal norms go. And they are right it happens EVERYDAY in work environments and as a father of 3 girls it PISSES ME TF OFF!
