As someone who lives in a 3rd world African country seeing Lisa complain about stuff like having to shower with a bucket and about the “stinky market” kinda just makes me mad. My family home in the Philippines is like this and it isn't as clean but it's really easy to adjust. You get used to the sleeping arrangement pretty quickly and the shower thing is also pretty easy, you dump water on yourself and use soap. I've had white friends who were born and raised accustomed to western middle class lifestyle like me who adjusted just fine when coming back home with me. I live with a Caribbean/South Asian mother and an African father, and seeing these people get mad over this stuff makes me laugh so much. None of these homes are bad in any way, and I know for sure myself and my family would live in their homes and feel comfortable. Like if they think that's even close to bad, then I thank God they're not homeless, because they would be dead in a day.

As someone who lived in the Philippines her whole life and has an American fiance..... jesus.... He's the one telling me how embarrassed he is for his own people because they complain a lot! Fyi, he has eczema too, and he slept in my tiny dorm room for a day to hang out with my cat and he didn't ask for boujee ass shit. I didn't even change the sheets when he got here! It was his first time bathing and showering in cold water and using the "tabo" (dipper) and "timba" (pail). I never heard him once complain, in fact, he was so happy and appreciative of everything! The audacity of some people to complain about 3rd world country... And they're not even good looking themselves! LOL.

Most Americans have an average life and understand what it's like to get by through any means. I don't see a problem with any of these places, the first one was honestly really nice. I personally look for cleanliness more than creature comforts, but like most ordinary people (not the entitled people on the show) I have had a regular life and I've been poor and had to make things work, it's not a big deal. These people suck and they give all us Americans a bad name. I'm sure they do it on purpose to make the show interesting and create drama

Also not everybody wants to live like Americans??? Lots of cultures sleep on the floor and obviously the Nigerian guy didn’t have a problem with showering with a bucket (which I don’t see the problem with either you just put water in a bucket and pour it on yourself??? It’s literally just like a bath)

Facts I dated a Nigerian who insisted on putting his mattress on the floor. He said sleeping with the mattress on top of the box spring made his back hurt lol and to me sleeping with it on the floor made my back hurt so he got me my own bed for when I came over. It was hilarious 😂

Yeah like the bucket thing is pretty normal even in South Asia. My aunt and uncle are fairly “well off” (they’re doctors) in India and they still use a bucket. It’s a culture thing lol

@Jeremy Jones They're not "desperate" to come to America because of how their beds are or their showers but they want to be able to make more money for their families and believe that moving to America will provide that. I don't really see what your comment had to do with the conversation at hand but this is just my take on the situations that I've seen

Big Ed said he has "atopic dermatitis" .... that is literally the medical name for eczema. He really was trying to make it sound rare and life threatening!

Ever noticed that Ed never brings up again whatever fantasy skin condition he has when he returned to the United States? He probably thinks the Philippines is only a disease-filled shithole and little anything else. That’s some serious racist behavior right there.
