@@paladin3806 as someone who grew up in a first world country with first world luxuries but has family in a third world country and goes to stay there for a while time and time again, I can say that the transition isn't that hard. My family home in the Philippines is like this and it isn't as clean but it's really easy to adjust. You get used to the sleeping arrangement pretty quickly and the shower thing is also pretty easy, you dump water on yourself and use soap. I've had white friends who were born and raised accustomed to western middle class lifestyle like me who adjusted just fine when coming back home with me. It's far from a bad living condition and I think most people would fare just fine that way.

To be honest, some places will charge tourist more. I learned that pretty quickly in Mexico. You'd be surprised how you would find similar items in the street market and one person would charge 50 pesos and another would try for 200. The hotel part pissed me off the most. I was homeless for two fucking months and the hotels we could afford to stay in weren't quite that good at all. That hotel had a flat screen TV, for fuck's sake. It probably worked, too. I also bet the refrigerator wasn't moldy and leaking.
