I went to a private school which was extremely strict and abusive. One of my teachers (who was pregnant at the time) hated me for no reason. I seriously still don't know why. I guess something about me just angers her. She would slap me, beat me, throw away my books or make me skip lunch for little to no reason. She would come to school in a bad mood and took it out all on me. My classmates were aware of it too but no one could do anything because punishing students is allowed here.

I well remember my teacher punishing me for forgetting to have my parents sign my test paper (and I did just forget; I got 100% on it so there was no reason not to show it to them). The nun grabbed me by the arm, flung me against the blackboard, and hit me across the back with a yardstick. She hit me so hard that the yardstick snapped in two. This was in 1958; I was in third grade. This was commonplace behavior for this particular teacher.

When i was eight i apparently said something at school that the teacher found inappropriate, i have no idea what. I was forced to stand at the front of the class while half a bar of soap was forced into my mouth then masking tape placed over it and the teacher stood behind me holding my arms so that i couldn't pull it off. I was in panic and thought i was going to die as i was throwing up and choking on it due to the masking tape. All the kids just laughed as the puke came out my nose. The irony was that the teacher would go to anti-vietnam protests on weekends and carry signs saying peace and love not war. I guess that didn't apply to little kids in their care. This was a state run school in Melbourne. I have had panic attacks with anything placed over my mouth since. I couldn't go out during covid as i couldn't cope with masks no matter how much i tried.

Girls did not receive a paddle to the rear, they had to hold their hands out, palm up; fingers were grasped and pointed towards floor to tighten skin of palm and they received a wooden ruler to the palm, again number of licks based upon infraction committed.

Toughen up!", I was hit with a switch, using a paddle isn't a big deal. You'll see when you get big.", I was hit with a paddle, using the belt is nothing compared.". In my elementary school back in 2004 we had a punishment called "The peas of anguish" When someone was very bad like bullying or being disrespectful to the teacher he would force the one who was responsible for it to kneel on frozen peas for at least a few minutes depending on what the one responsible did. If it was something like forgetting the homework you wouldn't be punished for it. You just would be reminded to do it. If it was bully other people then you had to kneel 4 to 5 minutes of the frozen peas. If it was disrespecting the teacher then you would have to kneel agonizing 10 minutes on the frozen peas. At least the punishment taught us to have respect of the teacher. That is something that is very rare in our society and schools today.

There’s a lot of people complaining in the comments about kids not getting beaten hard enough nowadays and that’s very telling of their own mental state
@Dawn737 Жыл бұрын
"Not getting beaten hard enough"? I've only seen complaints that today's kids aren't disciplined at all, and I don't know where you've been, but I don't think that's just the imaginations of everyone except you. Student assaults on teachers are at record highs, as is America's national teacher shortage. 1 in 5 American boys has been diagnosed with ADHD, causing other countries to call it "an American disorder".

When I was in the eighth grade (many decades ago), the teacher slapped a girl in the face for chewing gum, then made her put the gum on the end of her nose until class was over. I remember when I was in third grade the entire class had to stand in line and hold our hands out, palms up. We all got a whack with a ruler because we wouldn't quiet down. My mom laughed when I told her because she went to a catholic school where that happened all the time.

When my sister was 15 she snuck out and took our moms car to see some boy in her class and this was just before school was to let out for the summer. Well when she tried parking the car back in the garage she hit our grandmothers car. She tried to pretend like someone was breaking into the garage but didn't think about the hood of the car still being warm. She had a summer job already lined up so every Friday when she got paid my mom would pick her up and take her to the bank so she could sign her check over to our mom. Personally I would have been begging for a beating or any torture that could have been thought of rather than taking my money and working for free.

Yeah I f up man I was trying to break into the house so I went to the garage but then she saw me and I got inside the car because I wasnt fast enough to run. Then I accidentally smashed into the grandma's car and I got so scared I jumped out the car and just ran instead. My legs were running like a cheetah

Honestly I think people think children are slaves and I think the 2000s is ending it I mean look at regular slavery then look at children looks pretty similar ( no rights, expected to do as told, if a child leave they are called a runaway, before 2000, they were beaten for the tiniest thing something an adult would never be, they are not allowed to hold money ) almost the same as slaves

Remember this video next time you hear a conservative or libertarian complain about how government regulations are bad for business. Corporations exist for one reason, to maximize their profits. Those pesky regulations are why people arent forced to work 12 hours or more a day, seven days a week, with no compensation for overtime. It's why employers have worker compensation insurance for on the job injuries. They would still exploit children in this way if we let them.
