Thank you for giving Redlands some publicity. I'll take this opportunity to mention the best bike shop in the area, Don's Bicycles. I'll also mention the Redlands Bowl amphitheater, which provides performances on Tuesday and Friday nights during the warmer months. The admissions price is FREE! The San Bernardino Metrolink line is being extended to Redlands with service starting in 2022.

Thanks Phil!! Having lived in Redlands for many years, attended every classic during that time, ridden all those roads regularly and enjoyed hundreds of coffee at local dives, your journey brought forth many wonderful memories. It is true the community and all the bike clubs are truly dedicated to the race and caring for the cycling teams when in town. Your story telling of the Redlands Classic is appreciated. Well done.

I don’t know why, but seeing my home roads featured in your video (and my coach Brian getting a shoutout too!) just fills me with joy. Kept hoping I would see you riding around one day or that you would come out to TNWC, but honestly with Covid probably better that neither happened. Hope you’ll make a trip out on occasion now that your Wattage Cottage is someone else’s. Thanks for the video!

Grew up in the I.E. in the 80’s and even though the Redlands Classic existed, the whole area was still a very, very unfriendly place toward a young man in Lycra on a road bike on those hills. Nice to see it’s become a bit more tolerant.

Great reliving this race on your video. I was the lanton rouge in 1999 on GC. Out of 250+ riders who started, I faired better than 125 riders who never saw the end. Still the hardest week of racing I've ever done. I knew the oak glen road race was over when the helicopter flew away. I still had 19 minutes of climbing to go. Thanks for the walk down memory race lane. You are not the only guy who lived on $10 a day back then. 163. Jonathan Page (USA) Bogy USA/Team Dirt 18.50 164. @dwightmoore30604 жыл бұрын
Whatever year the summer Olympics were in Athens Greece, they held the Olympic Trials for road cycling in Redlands. They thought Athens would be hot and smoggy, so where else to hold the trials? Turned out it wasn't all that hot or smoggy the day of the trials, but they were trying to get the best team they could for the games. My local race team (Team Redlands/Jelly Belly) went out with some of the racers for a training ride a few days earlier, to show them around the course. We were dying - the racers were sightseeing. Keeps you humble!

What is your opinion on the ISM pn3.0C that you use on the hill climb bike? I have been using it for a week and a half, for me it is definitely the most comfortable full carbon saddle I've tried. But it's still quite uncomfortable compared to the ISM attack or other padded TT saddle, although It doesn't leave any lasting pain or soreness. What was your experience when you first started using it? Was it working immediately or did it take a while for you to get comfortable with it?
