I mean this with all due respect Zealand, but it's misinformation that Vitesse was doing fine before the Jordania (that turned into the Chygrinski/Oyf/Abramovich takeover). There is a lot of information behind what has happened, of which a lot still has to be confirmed for better or worse, but in general several parties (of which the leading parties behind Vitesse are one) are to blame for the current poor situation. I don't want this to turn into a lecture, although it already is a wall of text, but I'll just point out a few things. In general it started of with the move towards the new stadium, because the owner at that time saw golden mountains in the future, which worked for a few years, but in the end just put Vitesse in a bad situation with a stadium way too big for the amount of supporters. They pull in (on average) between 15-23k depending on how good the year is, whilst the stadium can house 26k, which always makes the stadium look empty-ish (whilst pulling in more numbers than a lot of other clubs in the Netherlands). Due to a previous poor financial situation (which in part made them sell the stadium), Vitesse has been in a stranglehold for years by their Stadium-exploiter, which makes them massively overpay for the rent of the stadium (which Jordania tried to buy, but was priced out by fine-clausules due to a previous situation where the municipality had to bail out the stadium) whilst the exploiter flat-out refuses to maintain it (think about a drainage system for the grass that doesn't work, which means Vitesse has to flatout buy a new grass-mat at least once per season) whilst taking 90% of proceeds in catering. Vitesse can't battle this, because for the Dutch footballing license you need a stadium, so he can ask whatever he'd like (and the stadium is in a part of the country where you don't traditionally have a lot of other use for said stadium, it's just not financially feasible, so the exploiter needs to get his expenses out of Vitesse). I say this as a fan of the club, that Vitesse has been financially screwed for quite some time, so they needed the takeovers. In this last saga, the problem is that it got political (due to the geopolitical situation) which basically put Vitesse into a takeover saga for two full years. That's two full years of barely being able to do anything with your squad, which would most likely slowly start to kill off any club. A fellow American of yours, Coley Parry, tried to take over the club, but after a gruelling process of 1.5 years of checks, they denied the takeover. In the mean time he had already been paying for some of the expenses, which then has to be turned into a loan with big interest rates, furthering the financial situation in a downward spiral. Last but not least, the KNVB (our national association) has also played a poor part in which they're seemingly trying to clean their own slate now at the end by being extra harsh. Think about the gruelling slow takeover process, in which they always take half a year before even updating anything in the process. Think about punishing Vitesse with fines (when in dispute with the stadium owner or when they had to change bank accounts because the old bank didn't want the possibility of dealing with Russian money). All in all we're talking about the second-oldest professional club of the country, with a rich history. As a fan I just hope that we find our way back up and create a financially viable ecosystem within the organisation.

And Vitesse is one of the most hated clubs in the Netherlands for that specific reason, since it is dumb as shit to let yourselves be financially dependent on a Russian oligarch.

Like you said, it isn't over yet. The Dutch FA will likely punish Vitesse more as they are waiting for more information and investigations to conclude. They could hand Vitesse another points deduction next season or they might still strip away their license if they haven't gone bankrupt by that time yet. While Vitesse dug this hole themselves, the Dutch FA doesn't go scoff free. No way it really took them 1.5 years to decide if Coley Parry was allowed to buy the club or not only for them to blueball Vitesse and Parry by blocking the takeover. I feel like they should've been a hell of a lot quicker with their decision so Vitesse would've had more time to come up with a plan B

Groningen fan here. We did do everything by the books and were financially stable. The problem was that the technical director just didn't want to spend money on good players (only on bad ones, 1,2 million for a back with no experience in that position). And we hired a coach that was mentally scared from his previous job (and only spoke a broken dutch/german). Then, his replacement was the assistant coach who had no experience as a head coach because all the other options were deemed too expensive. Groningen also has the problem of having high renting costs for the stadium and training grounds because they do not own it themselves. So promotion is essential. Tldnr: Technical director was incompetent, so we relegated. Flederus is an idiot.

The American operation was financed through irregular means as the other comment already states. It is not at all unlikely that this operation is again just the Russians trying to buy their own club back but with an added layer in between as most Russian assets are frozen. Buying Vitesse is potentially very important as a Vitesse bankruptcy will open their books and there will be a hot load of crap in there that might impact Chelsea for instance. Vitesse absolutely needs to die to investigate this, which I think is one of the reasons the Dutch FA made moves to make it as hard as possible for Vitesse to survive. This is my team and although your story is pretty accurate you are still missing some things in your story. First of all 'the Russians' want to sell the club for over 2 years now. There was a possible new owner, mister Parry from the Common Group (who also owns the Belgian team Patro and the English team Lleyton Orient). He put money in Vitesse to pay for any open issues since the russians didnt pay anything the last 2 years. Unfortunatelly he is not very rich and therefore the Dutch FA (KNVB) did a 2 year research into him to then say he can't buy the club because of this. In this 2 year period Vitesse could barely spend any money and therefore slowly went down the league since they play with a lot of loan players and youth players. Last year they ended 10th and this year the max would be 15th. At the same point ING wanted to cancel the bankaccount of the club because of Dutch rules concerning russians cliënts and the accountant could not sign the quater/yearaccounts of the club because of the same reason. These would be violations of the license rules bythe club. Hoever, these are immediately solved to moment the ownership goesfrom the russians to anyone else! Vitesse tried to do that twice, but the Dutch FA said no to both of those lotions because they were still researching if Abramovich was involved or not. This investigation already takes 2 years now and even no e they still can't find hard evidence he is actually the owner! But in the meantime the KNVB takes the club hostage since they can't do anything and are breaking the rules without them being at fould for that.. The punishment is a bit vague and unfair. The problem is, Vitesse can't fight it since they need to get a license to c continue the club. If they fight this, the licensecommittee will just not give them a new license and there is no way to fight that! The KNVB is a bit of a stupid organisation that doesnt handle critic well. Years ago the Dutch team Twente litterally frauded twice and only got -6 points. That would be a more fair penalty die Vitesse to ! But because the previous board of the club kept on fighting the licensecommittee about the Russians, Parry and It taking 2 years now before they can transfer ownership the licencecommittee is giving them this punishment now, even though there is no hard evidence Abramovich is the owner... In Arnhem we as fans now just hope for the best and hope we are done with the KNVB now! Fortunatelly this club is a big club so we will come back, even if it might take a year, or two...

Vitesse is actually the French word for speed 😉 I find it hilarious whats going on at Vitesse. The club has been a garbage fire since the 90s. The only reason they've been rellatively succesful is the fact that rich owners kept pumping in millions of Russian Rubbels into the club. They've builded up a debt of 155 million Euros with their former owner Oyf. 40 millions in loses per season. No Eredivisie club should normally survive this kind of mismanagement And the one time they actually have too manage without financial injections and they almost immediately go bankrupt. This should have happened way sooner. They've also now proven a connection between Roman Abramovic and Vitesse. Abramovic was earlier interested in buying Vitesse as a satalite club for Chelsea. They wouldnt only allow it since it would have been possible that Vitesse and Chelsea would face eachother in Europe. And then "by pure chance" friend and business partner of Abramovic, Jordania becomes owner of Vitesse. Later Oyf who has similar connections to Abramovic. Finally has been proven what everyone already knew too be true but unfortunately was never proven. Abramovic is really then man pulling the strings behind Vitesse. Het is maar een spelletje jongens 😂

So yeah money trouble in the past had us getting sold to a bunch of crooked Russians and while the English FA does a horrible job at checking for criminal activity the Dutch FA does take it seriously. Let's not hide from the truth, the whole Abramovich operation is a money laundering operation. With the war in Ukraine the money dried up and the mess has surfaced. I hope the club just dies and we can try the phoenix thing where money isn't doing all the talking. You are underestimating the larger clusterfuck here, Vitesse is by no means a financially sound club. To keep it simple here's the short version: Vitesse has been whoring itself out to 'big-daddy-money-pimps' (mainly from Russia) since the early naughty's, when their local chairman flew too close to the sun and left the club in financial dire straits. And just like a real addicted street hooker desperately looking for the next fix, they didn't care who, what or where the actual money came from. This 'policy' has since become company culture at the complete expense of actually developing the club. So while it might have looked good on the outside, the 'club' Vitesse was little more than a first team bankrolled by some shady oligarch. Now that those oligarchs are forced out, it has become apparent that stepping in as a new owner is about as smart an investment as putting your money on a pile and setting it on fire because the club has too little revenue compared to the operating budget and the substantial debt that is still there. Frankly, it's a miracle they even held on for so long.

"This isn't a financial issue" goes on to explain how it's a financial issue. Stick to football manager.

He clearly explained how this was an issue about missing documents that would prove the club isn't managed by a politically sanctioned man behind the curtains. How is this a financial issue?

i still dont get the abramovic stuff tbh, yes hes friends with putin but so f'in what, should you be held accountable and responsible for your friends actions? the guy clearly gives a shit about football, otherwise he wouldnt feel the need to put any money into any club

True that, but rules like this are around to stop the generation of wealth amongst war profitiers suspects He might be completely innocent but being an alogark makes you an immediate suspect of dictator funding as you tend to gain from their success But Roman does definitely seem to be crazy about football, I kinda feel for the guy honestly
@dmamorpm76726 ай бұрын
Doesn’t that depend on if he’s a shill for Putin and has the ability to run the club as a laundering operation? It empowers them to get money in and out if so. You also need to ask how he got that money in the first place to be able to invest in Chelsea, Vitesse etc. that thread will start answering questions about why he’s sanctioned. Footy fan or not.

@@Randomaccount9470 Can we also talk about Israel? I mean, they've actually killed way way way more people than Russia/Putin did, yet they've received 0 sanctions for being connected. Odd, isn't it? It's almost like they run everything.

I say the worst league is league 2 and I don’t rlly get how the Turkish league is doomed BJK and Galatasaray are doing good?
@jhplayz2986 ай бұрын
League 2 isn't even the lowest stage of England, but it shouldn't even be compared to the Turkish League. The Turkish League is on a completely different level to League 2. When people say that the Turkish League sucks, it means in comparison to the other nations that qualify for European competitions, like the champions League, Europa League and conference, where quite a lot of Turkish teams have struggled in recent years. The Turkish League is known by quite a lot of people as a league that signs past-their-best or aging European players in order to try to make the league look bigger than it is. In conclusion, this comment is dumb, and completely irrelevant to the video.
