Apparently another cat (I think a Persian or a Siamese?) was jealous of the sphinx who was the most beautiful cat. The other cat shaved the sphinx making it the hairless cat we see today, making the jealous cat the most beautiful. Also the parsley line - parsley is used as food decoration topping a dish. Supposed to be some sort of imagery about Sonic being attractive I think… I hate the song tbh. Amy needs a new theme song.

i unapologetically love all hail shadow. banger song, on my playlists. what i will say is that it does NOT belong in 06 or any other game, it only belongs in shadow the hedgehog. that song invokes the idea of an evil and arrogant shadow that doesn't make any kind of sense for a *canon* shadow. in the 05 shadow game, however, you have all kinds of story routes and quite a few where shadow gets crazy power hungry (the android and alien ones come to mind) and in those cases i think all hail shadow ABSOLUTELY fits what's going on. i love that song, i think it has a place in the amnesia/identity crisis era of shadow, and i think people are too rough on it because it (rightly) shouldn't be associated with the modern canon good-adjacent shadow

The Unleashed E rank is a masterpiece, and You Can Do Anything, You're My Hero, Seven Rings in Hand, and My Sweet Passion are bangers and have no place being here. Re: My Sweet Passion, even it's lyrics IMO do fit with the other Adventure tracks: they're all shameless, in a good way: The upbeat main themes are unabashedly corny trying to be "cool", Shadow's are stupid edgy, and do I need to mention Knuckle's raps?. If you take that same Over The Top, unapologetic approach to Amy's character (a stalker simping for Sonic), then My Sweet Passion its lyrics about shaving certain hair and painting yourself to look like your crush is 100% what you'd get. Plus the actual instrumentation goes hard

I feel like My Sweet Passion crosses some kind of line when the lyrics are taken into account. I don't mean that to say the lyrics are offensive, rather that there's like a level of unapologetic corniness where it just doesn't hit right like the others. Amy's weird whispers and even most of the Adventure 2 Knuckles raps cross that threshold for me personally. I will admit, just going off the instrumental, definitely a banger.

As someone who also likes Speak With Your Heart, I can understand why some people don't like it. The singer's autotune could turn some people off and the lyrics can lay the cheese on a bit too hard (the best comparison I can make is We Can from Sonic Heroes). Some of the Cyberspace tracks are absolute bangers are you out of your mind? Flowing, Dropaholic, Go Back 2 Your Roots, Hype Street, TRANSPARENT HIGHWAY (!!!), Enjoy this World, RUMBLE RAVE (!!!), Fog Funk, hell most of the ones I just listed were composed by Ohtani himself and are MASSIVE steps up from what we heard in Forces, and actually fit with the stages they're in. I think a lot of fans just aren't ready to accept a lot of the new music styles and its a real shame, some of the cyberspace tracks are from new artists to the series and are breathing new life into it, so I think they deserve a bit more respect. P.S Love that this was probably recorded before that new Chaos Island remix everyone hates LMAO

I mean as someone who listened to most of the Frontiers OST, the soundtrack was fine to me. I just think some people aren't into the style that Cyberspace goes for even if it fits some of the levels which is a fine opinion to have and one that I don't think disrespects the new artists necessarily. There are even a good amount that I find middling. I also personally am not into the first half of the Chaos Island remix because of how heavy and hard on the ears it was for me. Yes I am aware that is part of the point but knowing what the track is going for doesn't really elevate my enjoyment of it in this case.

Fun fact: Almost Dead isn't technically a Sonic song. Its one of the few acquired songs Sega has put in Sonic games, like Vandalize (which actually had a rather *Not Kid Friendly* original version, at least almost dead was pg when they picked it lol). It was also used in the credits of the movie Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave, released the same year as ShTH. I will say, I personally think the beginning has some charm to it but it really starts to fall off a cliff at around the first minute and a half. FUN FACT: The Sonic Spinball Options theme is actually just broken. In fact (surprise, surprise), the soundtrack in the first version of the game was broken as well thanks to them having to create a soundtrack in less than *two hours* . The European rerelease fixed this, but not the options track. If you actually fix that track, it sounds surprisingly okay.

All Hail Shadow doesn't really feel like a "Shadow is better than you" song (at least not for the majority of it, I am not pretending that "bow your head low, all hail Shadow" aren't arrogant lyrics). Most the song seems to focus on the turmoil Shadow faced in his life leading up to now and how he's finally moving forward in a direction he feels is right (ex. suffer long and it will set you free) to be fair though, it's not like Wallace wanted all these songs to be on here. Bro is going to bat for Speak With Your Heart and it was said he just looked for some kind of consensus on the bad Sonic music.

The band, Powerman 5000, made Almost Dead for the movie, Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave, which released a month before Shadow the Hedgehog. Thank you for including Crush 40's Free. I used to like all Crush 40 as a teenager unsurprisingly, nowadays their originals are pretty great overall, but the covers are almost all bad. Free, His World, All Hail Shadow and more, they're hard to listen to at times. Though I get why you dislike Amy's theme (the lyrics suck_, I can't believe you chose that when her even worse theme still exists, Follow Me. Tidal Plant Zone, Atomic Destroyer Zone, Rank E music, Almost Dead and All Hail Shadow are absolute bops though, are you kidding me? I could understand the Crush 40 version on the list, but the Magna-Fi one? ;P For me, the missing worst if I were to add are His World (Crush 40 version), Mushroom Hill (Sonic 3), Follow Me, We Can and every Sonic Colors Ultimate track, those are the omissions I would personally consider. Obviously not actually upset, great vid as usual. Liked the two co-hosts for this one.
