No, you're right, it's 1:20 in the morning. With such chains, the joints and bolts must be lightly lubricated at least twice a year, it would be better if four times a year. Then, like the escalators, they last forever. How can these two look so outrageously pretty in winter? Jade doesn't even have to smile anymore, it warms my heart... she's my KZbin superstar!

There is extra chain lubricating oil that you put between the joints. Too bad, I thought the grandfather boss could use an assistant like me and I finally had a reason to start the 4026 miles. I've already pumped up the tires on my bike...

Hi! I’m Paul Caron, I confounded Earthaven Ecovillage, 28 years ago in North Carolina. We co-owned an LT25 Woodmizer as a workers owned building co-op in the early years of our development. So I know what you’re dealing with in your business. You’re really practicing ‘right livelihood’ in my opinion. I really admire the family solidarity that is the heart of your enterprise. I am concerned about how needing to grow your scale of production, that feeling could be threatened. My advice is that you could keep that family feeling going as you expand through becoming a worker owned co-operative. In simple terms, you provide employees to get a share ( this is all very flexible to design) in the enterprise after a provisional period in which you figure out if you are family or not. This is how we induct new members into our community. Basically, if you have patience and good will, the people seem to sort themselves in or out without much controversy after they live here for a couple of years. The same thing will undoubtedly happen with long term employees for you. You have an excellent foundation for a powerful example of a new economic model that we really need now. Thanks for being such an inspiring demonstration.

You ladies know how to do everything and do it. Even though you do a lot of work you are smooth and your equipment isn't all smashed up. You get so much done but you never seem to be rushing or panicking. In most settings like this the workers don't care and break things, bend up things like the trailers and trucks. You seem to have such a great family and family situation. It relaxes me so much to watch you just do what needs done. Like I said you seem so smooth and calm. Thank you so much for including me in your venture.

Hey Emerald, That big round with the hole in the center was a missed opportunity... it would have made a unique and useful fire pit, all it needed was a dished or recessed grating over the top and some slots on bottom surface cut with a chainsaw for upward airflow. Ashes fall thru and can be collected in a pan at bottom for neater removal... it might need more chainsaw work underneath to fit a proper metal catch pan for ashes and cinders... or use aluminum foil pans with some crumpling ? Maybe next time call Grandad for a special project...

Looking at the loading arm for that splitter it looks like it could be better if it raised higher so the round would roll all the way into the splitter, not needing rolled that last distance by hand. If the lift cylinder travel can be increased a little it may be less work loading the rounds that last distance into the splitter.

@@samuelluria4744 A stop could be added to limit over run and soften a jolt to the frame of the splitter. Grandpa could likely come up with something there. A heavy object pendulum could work as a stop. An old differential with one axle housing cut off could be hung from a hinge on top of a post there beside the splitter and it would be heavy enough to work as a stop, so the round would drop into the valley in the splitter without much of a jolt. A piece or double piece of railroad rail would work as a heavy pendulum stop also.
@artpatronforever2 жыл бұрын
@@samuelluria4744 An even simpler stop could be to just lean an old axle with the hub end on the ground and axle end positioned where it would stop the travel of the round. A bipod could support the axle at the correct angle and lashed down with a ground anchor. If somebody is there all day physically moving tons of weight that is extra work can be avoided, there is motivation to try to improve that machine loading scheme.
