To add to long list of worst to best videos. This time I will be ranking all the games that I have played in my all time favorite fighting game franchise Mortal Kombat.

If it weren't for games like Mortal Kombat X, I wouldn't feel bad for characters like Jax. One of my favorite parts of MKX's Story Mode is Scorpion and Sub-Zero making amends with each other.

Small correction; it was the ending of Armageddon that was used before the reboot. 9 is still my favorite while I'll always have soft spots for Shaolin Monks, 2, 4, Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Trilogy.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy is not simply a mashup of all 3 games. It really is its own thing - it added the Aggressor system and reworked some characters. It's balanced totally different. My personal favorite MK game so I'm a bit of a fangirl but I encourage you to try it!

I am a veteran to this series. I was playing the old MK 3D Era games on the PS2 and MK9 hits hard with nostalgia. I think MK11 is the superior game, but between MK9 and MKX, MKX takes the gameplay and MK9 takes the story. It was a big revolution for the MK franchise

MK Trilogy wasn't a collection of Mortal Kombat games, it was a standalone game and similar to UMK3 with a new mechanic (Aggressor meter) and an expanded roster of characters.

I loved Armageddon from what I remember. One of my favorite mk games. Also what was the game where you could play chess and like race against other mk characters? Was that mk deception? I loved that too

Chess was in Deception and Motor Kombat was in Armageddon. Both were amazing

I don't care about anyone's opinion but MK Deception is definitely the best MK game ever. By its plot, musics, concept, dark atmosphere, replayability , aesthetic. Dan Forden did his best in MK Deception. From techno to rock, from ambient to eastern instruments there are a quite variety of genres of MK Deception's soundtracks. Even announcer voice is the most charismatic voice of all MK games. There is Konquest mode which is kinda like a standalone RPG game. Don't need to mention Chess and Puzzle Kombat.

I think just the a scale of putting EVERY character in the series into the same game (even rumored characters), was a complete appeal for anyone who played it, but esp for kids.

Deception is my absolute favourite MK game. The konquest mode was great, Onaga was an amazing villain and the roster and mechanics were really refined from Deadly Alliance. Truly the pinnacle of the 3D era.

My Favorites are: - Mortal Kombat 9 - Mortal Kombat X - Mortal Kombat 11 Those I like: - Mortal Kombat Armageddon - Mortal Kombat Deception - Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance - Mortal Kombat 4 MK vs DC is Okay to me. Not the best, but I managed to enjoy it. Shaolin Monks is enjoyable, but I just enjoy Mortal Kombat games as a Fighting Genre.

Armageddon's only flaw is it didn't have as many gameplay modes as deception but it's character roster has never been beat

Wonder how it will work in a versus match. Certain fighters can't win a fight, while others can wipe the floor with the competition. Who in MK could be a number one contender for a match in your series, given the motivation?

Mkx was my introduction to the series because I just picked it up on a whim but now I'm a huge fan of the series. My favorite game that I've played is probably mk9 just because so much happened in it and everything that happened was cool.

Great tier list! My only disagreement is bumping the vanilla Mortal Kombat 3 to Average. It felt incomplete, and needed more time to cook, which Ultimate accomplished. Today, Mortal Kombat feels like it's in its second Attitude Era. It is better than ever. MK9 got me back into MK and I love how much they improved in every possible way: aesthetic, game-play, and storyline to bring people back with its ret-con, which really re-invents the series. This is coming from someone who always preferred Street Fighter to Mortal Kombat, on now my inner fanboy has flipped. I am excited to see the direction where the franchise can go now!

Played Mortal X, but MK11 was my first bought MK game. Happy got blessed by buying it, since it was so fun. Only wish there were more old costumes like jade, kintana, scorpio ect. More characters. MK11 combat, story and animation is just gorgeous. Should be a good example how to make a fighting game fun and hype.

I can’t pick a favourite mk game. Because mk 11 ruined everything for me. But I did play hours of fun in mk trilogy, mk9, a bit of mkx. It’s a hard shame that the 2d versions will never get a remaster of any kind. Netherealms studios will never 👎 a dime from me and I’m glad that people are waking up to how unfairly mk 11 players are treated.

(WARNING incoming novel) unpopular opinion based off these comments: MKDA is the best mortal kombat game of all time. It was the scariest/eeriest game out of the whole franchise. MKDA also had the best krypt out of the whole franchise(the music and sounds gave me chills tbh), i remember being terrified to go unlock things because i had to go down there. The fatalities(although only 1 per character) were badass, gruesome, and extremely next level at the time, as well as the music/sounds effects being perfect to pair with it. Fighting styles were a new addition in this game and man were they amazing… creating these lengthy and awesome looking combos that you could pull off. The stages were fantastic on this game as well(wish there was stage fatalities) but I could honestly go on and on and on about how much i love deadly alliance. Its a shame because I feel like most of the community wrote this game off because Liu Kang died in the story and the Konquest was lackluster compared to Deception. Also me having love for the early 2000’s helps factor my opinion lol. I’m grateful that i grew up on MKDA forever the goated MK. IDK if anyone will ever read this but if you feel the same way about Deadly Alliance being the best, you’re a real one and theres not many of us. (Thanks for coming to my ted talk btw)

One thing you don't take into account is atmosphere. MK1 to this day, is unmatched, it's almost like an horror movie. And because it started it all with spectacular graphics (still looks good to this day) as well as the real impression that you were in a tournament, it can only be in champion tier.

Mortal kombat x is my favorite but that being said I bought the XL version when that came out because I tend to not buy fighting games until they are complete and I herd that at launch mkx had issues especially with lacking characters and things that were added so maybe my opinion would be different if I played it when it came out but for me buying xl on sale for 40$ is one of the best if not the best value I've ever got in gaming and I still okay X to this day

Is there a conquest mode in Mortal Kombat nine? Or is it all just fighting people and washing cut scenes? Because I think Mortal Kombat deception had a cool mix. I love a new game that does with Shaolin monks does and you get to fight some normal enemies and a beat them up style game and then for mainline characters you fight one on one in an arena.

I totally agree with your top 3. MK 11 is the more balanced of the 3 (MK 9 and MKX). I also agree with you, to say that Armageddon is the worst episode of the 3d era. The graphics are bad; less textures on the character models and stages. The characters share the same moves and combos. It's sad, because Deception was a GREAT game!

While I think the Mortal Kombat film that just released could have been better, it definitely exceeded my expectations and I had a lot of fun. I don’t like the DC EU at all though the Snyder cut was a big step up from all the other films even though I did not finish it. It would be awful but I would be there opening night no matter what if they had a DC EU versus Mortal Kombat

MK11 with MKX meter system would have been the best MK ever made the only thing that bothers me in MK11 is the meters. Everything else from towers, content, characters, customization is above every other game they've ever made besides maybe the character creation on Armageddon.
