PAIGE!!! I'm gonna go on a limb and recommend the Percy Jackson series! This is coming from a 20s something rereading the series this year. It hits slightly different than when I read it as a teen, when I read it for the adventures. Rereading it in my 20s, the books impressed me with how much greek mythology was actually cramped inside. It was jampacked with greek mythology and all these elements were weaved into the story in such an entertaining way, I highly recommend it! I have feeling you would like it too, based on our similar "don't care, didn't ask" category 😂 I also loved Brene and I will check out the other books you recommended by her :D

12:57 THANK YOU..all I hear about shatter me is great reviews and people obsessing over it. I barely got into 1 chapter before I decided i was over it. I picked it up again months later and it took me a year to finish

I love your videos like this! I'm totally the opposite about watching movies or shows based on books. I tend to prefer to watch the shows first because they never have everything from the book. Watching them for what they are and not being bummed that they cut my favorite character or part of the book is more enjoyable for me. Then i can read the book and have fun seeing what was changed or seeing the parts that didn't make the show. If i read the book first, 9/10 times I'm super hopeful going into the show and then disappointed. I highly recommend the outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Trigger Warning, lots of s*xual assault across the series. However, it's respectful to sa survivors and they show the lasting effects for the characters. They're huge books, and the writing style is dense. Not a quick read, but an intense story worked into history in cool ways. Also i'm so happy you recommended the Tattooist of Auschwitz. I didn't know there was another book after that! Just got the audiobook from the library, thank you! The Alice Network by Kate Quinn and The Paper girl of Paris by Jordyn Taylor are both really good and along that line. Kate Quinn's the diamond eye was so good! Kickass woman sniper based on a real person that was called Lady Death. Andy Wier- Project Hail Mary was really fun as an audio book. 10/10 recommend! Seanan Mcguire's October Daye series is my comfort series. So much so that my phone auto filled that sentence. Starting with rosemary and rue, it's fantastic! Very snarky. Emily kimmelman's Sydney Rye series is good so far. I'm on book 10 and damn. I love the authors unapologetic outlook. Scott westerfeld- Uglies is a lot better than the Netflix movie. Definitely recommend the books! VE Schwab- the invisible life of Addie larue was one of the best recommendations i got this year.

What is YA?
@aliceDarts2 күн бұрын
Young Adult. IMO it is a spectrum that is not labeled. There are books ranging from non graphic, non exotic, to very adult, graphic and exotic. All labeled YA because publishers wanted a very quick buck. It wasn't like that in the 90's until social media became the norm.
