Dont book taxi with airport taxi service. they are scam too. At least you can bargain with the taxi when you try to get your own. I booked one specifically with ac for long distance ride, there was no AC, of course. And the taxi ae not run by airport or government, it just agreement between government and the tax owners, but the people who work at airport and the taxi ones collude to scam you. It happens always.

A bit more planning would help you guys get a better travel experience ...not all airports have ATMs ...not just India. Even if one exists.. you can not be guaranteed it would work. A quick look on Google maps shows a few ATMs enroute to Chennai airport. In fact I recall using a Canara bank ATM in the past at the airport. Drones is always an issue... just like the US..in fact TSA website says...Please check with your airline prior to traveling for their policy. Also.. you need permission to fly drones in India. Otherwise that's another wall you will run into. Good luck 😊

unfortunately you did not check the Indigo airline drone policy, it is as mentioned below - “REGISTERED drones are allowed in checked in baggage. Please ensure it is not connected to a battery source, the removed battery must be carried as a carry on item. Drones with fitted batteries must be switched off completely and protected from damage. The power of the battery must not exceed 160Wh”. Drone/Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) /Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) /Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) are restricted items and cannot be carried in cabin baggage.

Not just that dude, ever since 9/11 happened, airlines became obsessed with security to prevent concealed weapons to appear in any form in the cabin space. The larger drones have ample space to conceal objects, so security staff outright bans such drones within the cabin to prevent any possibility. Also, a shorted out Lithium-ion battery (large capacity) is as dangerous as an explosive bomb, so that is also banned from entering the cabin.

You have to stop whining and act all entitled like a typical gora. Please do read the fine print on drone rules and policies defined by government of India before stepping into the country. There is tons of information that is easily accessible. Whether you get stopped or not you have to abide by them. And if the security personnel at the airport have doing something incorrectly/ wrong then do mentioned it nicely and in simple words so your viewers can understand and maybe help lodge a complaint with the concerned authorities instead of huffing n puffing and grumbling.

If your country has different rules that do not apply to other countries, it is your job to make it crystal clear, it should be under terms and conditions, not in tiny print at the corner. I really like your vlogs, but Not impressed with your handling about the incidents in this vlog. 1. Please don't take Indian laws and rules for granted, especially related to air travel. I understand it's a stressful situation (having been in similar ones). Even if you didn't know the rules, something could've been worked out if you were calm and little flexible. 2. If your bag is damaged, there are procedures to get compensation, Provided you promptly inform the airline staff at baggage collection itself. 3. Considering the size of your travel party (6) + luggage, confirming the size and capacity of the vehicle with the taxi operator before making payment is not too much to ask. If you had confirmed, don't know why you wouldn't just go back to the taxi operator and check with him about the issue. I hope you know that Indians do criticize the Indian system where it is due, but frankly, you all could've done better as well. All the best for the next travels👍

In America or Canada, water is not even allowed on the plane, so why should drones be allowed,? where you can install explosives. And you don't have to be so nervous and to be offended on India. I hate to say it, but you were 100% wrong with how you dealt with that. 1. Always put things like drones and electricals in checked luggage unless you need them for the actual flight, it just saves time, and should be a standard way to travel. 2. You should be aware of policies for flights before getting on, and how things can change day by day (something I think you would know having flown so much), and perhaps asked at the check-in. 3. I would not have involved the girls in the discussion, it is just extra stress, and you should have acted more calmly to set a good example. 4. If you miss the flight, you would get your luggage back, in which case you could pack the drone in the luggage and check it. 5. Could you not have bought a separate bag and checked that, I don't know if they would let you do it, but you could have explored it. 6. Mail the drone to your destination hotel, I am sure that if you had asked politely, the desk or information people would have mailed the drone to you for maybe $100, (better than throwing away an expensive drone). 7. While it may be a $1,000 drone, don't sweat the small stuff, I am sure you could have claimed on insurance. 8. Trying to make a scene, like you did, will never work, and if anything is less likely to have a security person help you. 9. You really sounded like an American tourist, not a good look.

We have that footage but chose to share just a snippet with our audience. As for the taxi service they knew we were a party of 5 with luggage. After visiting most of the world we recognise a scam when we see one.

We love this family and have been following their amazing adventures from the beginning. This is the first in which I have checked out the comments, in that I was curious if they had recovered their drone. Airports are insane and there are instances when Mother Teresa would flip out. We are international travelers and often fantasize about having a KZbin channel, but reading the eviscerating vitriol spewed on this epically sweet family has cured me of any desire to put our story out there. The girls are so amazingly well adjusted, I hope that they are shielded from all this, as I wouldn't want it to affect their cheerful alacrity in any way. The comments made me sad and it wasn't even about me. Keep spreading the Joy! Peace and Love

Thanks for the sweet comment. You know sometimes when we’ve been going non-stop and we’re all tuckered out, little things like this can trigger us. You should have seen us yesterday. We are currently in West Africa and it’s been so rough that I just said that it’s brining out the worst in us. There are so many lovely people but many who aren’t and it’s very taxing on us. Hopefully when these videos come out we will post the beauty with a little of the realities so we don’t upset too many people. The comments don’t bother us. Some are right in the sense that we shouldn’t disrespect authority etc… it’s all good though.

I concur! I regard myself as a considerate person, but I completely lost it at an Aeroflot desk in Moscow. I inadvertently missed my flight and it cost me more than a few rubles. I freaked so hard, I made a young counter girl cry (Ugh!). After my return flights from Morocco and Spain, I reapproached the desk, apologized profusely, with the emphases on how rotten I felt about the girl. The guy was blown away. He said that no one had ever returned and apologized before. (What a brutal gig). He got my name and everything. On the plane the attendant called me out and sat me in a special area. Not knowing what was happening, and it appeared to be serious, I thought that maybe I was being notified that my aging mother was sick. Then, the counter girl tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Are you feeling better?" I gave her a big hug and was elated to make things right. It makes me a bit emotional, even now. As one on the yoga path, I'd hoped to be more Zen, but travel is hard. Hence, the root word, "travails"- hardship; (Fr) "travailler"- to work; (Old English) "travelen"- to torment. Ha ha! Well, I'm over the moon that you responded to me! Thanks so much! I have such respect for the good work and great vibes that your family puts out (needed now, more than ever) and please keep being amazing! ps. I had always wanted to do a DNA test, but it was always a bit pricey. Because of GUWB, I did it! Cheers!@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders

it doesnt matter if someone has travelled to 100 or 150 countries or even more , each country can have different local rules even if they might not sound rational to everyone and usually those rules are the same for locals as well . its always better to do proper research and respect local laws and rules of the place no matter whichever that country is !!!! even i do that myself abroad even if i might not like certain local rules that much, particularly when it comes to flying or taking a train or something

Hello ma’am! I have been following up on your Vlogs as you travel in India. They superb videos with tons of details and excellent editing. It is distressing to hear that you had to give up your drone to board the plane. The Airport authority rules are very strict in India. As an Indian citizen travelling on domestic flight, I too have experienced such issues. On the issue you faced with Taxi, my advice to you would be to inform the company at the booking only that you have a lot of luggage. The big cylinder thing you saw in trunk of the car is the CNG cylinder. It’s the fuel tank for the car. Gasoline is very expensive is India so lot of taxi cars are factory fitted with CNG cylinders. Hope this info was helpful.

Drones are allowed they just need to be in the checked luggage. They could have easily let it on the plane as there is no risk in doing this. They're just following the rules. In Pakistan they have the same rules in place but for the drone batteries but, they let me on the plane with it in my carryon. There's always exceptions to the rules. In every other country the batteries need to be in the carryon not the checked luggages so this wasn't clear to us.

After traveling to 100 countries, this was the first time they wouldn’t allow it in carryons which is very strange to us. The drone on a plane is no threat. If anything the batteries would be but I was allowed to keep those in my carryon. Makes no sense to us so yes I had to challenge the authorities. In Pakistan, they told me the batteries weren’t allowed on the plane but they made an exception for me.

Been following you guys for some time now and your videos are good but in this case it was pure carelessness on your behalf. It is common sense that we check about any updated rules and regulations regarding any airlines or air travel in any country on the airline's website, not on a newsletter or a blog as they might be outdated. The army personnel you were arguing with, his sole duty is to keep everyone safe and sound and no one is an exception to that. He was doing his duty and it was carelessness on your part to not do your research properly. About the drone rules, we have greater security concerns when compared to the US, Canada or Switzerland. So as you followed the rules of different countries during your travel, you would have to do the same here. Tainting the image of a country based on your misunderstanding or lack of knowledge of rules is not justified.

Your travels across 100 nations reflect your personal experience. But others may not experience the same. My brother would always be given a more rigorous inspection whenever he enters the US and they would tell him its just a random selection. But it was his name which could be confused for a muslim name. He changed his name and was never given the more rigorous inspection - the randomness in selection disappeared. My wife and I were boarding an international flight at London international Airport. My wife was asked by a male to remove her jacket for inspection before entry into the boarding area. I was effing mad about it and made noises. I was persuaded by other Indians to go along with it after the inspector was changed. The rules in India are for the protection of all. You have to comply just like the rest of us do anywhere. The inspectors are not there to determine who gets a pass. I do hope you got your drone back. And that you continue to enjoy what India brings to your world experience. And I look forward eagerly to your vlogs.
