Worth 77K!? New 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser FIRST EDITION!

Is this 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser WORTH $77K? I understand inflation has hit us all in every way but this just feels overkill. It's a 4 cylinder, plastic-filled Land Cruiser at the end of the day. First Edition or not, it feels highly inflated. Think I'd pay high 50s for this but anything more than that, no thanks. The 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition I had before feels a ton more premium than this, a ton more special to be honest. The 5.7L V8 was a huge plus too! What do you think of this all-new Land Cruiser? Would you take one over the new 2025 4Runner TRD Pro or Trailhunter? How about over the 2024 Lexus GX550 Overtrail? My money would be with the Lexus personally. The Tacoma TRD Pro, 4Runner TRD Pro and the Land Cruiser First Edition here all share the same exact iForce Max hybrid platform.

Did you see that many Lexus LX600s already have major issues with the V6 engines? I just saw it yesterday. Similar to what is going on with the Tundras. And the Lexus is also built in Japan.

If it had a V6 without a turbo, would not mind paying 80k for it. I actually love the look of the first edition just the powertrain is something I refuse to pay for. 4 cylinder turbo diesel with tons of torque? I'd definitely go for that.

That is almost what I paid for my 2023 Sequoia Platinum!!! The new Land Cruiser is a $50K car in mid trim at best. I was at the Toyota dealership this weekend and they had one. It was all plastic and can’t see spending that type of money for a 4 cylinder small SUV.

I’d really like to see a comparison between the LC and the new GX if you’re able to. It seems like a “base” model GX would be a better value than a mid level or upper trim LC for the same price.

This new Landcruiser is sharp. Personally, I like the Landcruiser Premium Edition better for appearance. Nice blend of looks, technology, and performance....and all while keeping it Landcruiser subtle. The Landcruiser continues to be the Rolex Submarine/Tudor Pelagos and Cessna 172/182 of the auto world. High point of entry price, however, holds or increases value over time.

cool review. I agree with 2/3 of your cons. Personally, i can live with the motor, except i don't like sacrificing load floor, and 3 row options. (and i own an older V8 LC, and wife has a V8 GX, so i like a V8 me). Viewers have to remember this is a Toyota (less lux) version of a GX. Its a LC 250/Prado, so you can't expect 200 or 300 series levels of luxury. The 1st edition is about $10K over-priced though. If the prices come down a bit, and my salary goes up a bit, i'd take on. I don't use a 3rd row often, but i do like the option. Hoping in 25 some other variants come out. (of course, they'll be marked up too). I think it's a great vehicle for what it is, not what it's sort of replacing, just carrying the "toyota tax", added to "LC tax", added to "limited supply tax".

Sheet metal looks good. Front looks good. I don't like the rear hatch and glass design. Never would pick black for an overlanding vehicle. Love that they finally put a decent rack on their Landcruiser! Rear cargo area is a fail. You're losing at least 4 or 5 inches because of the battery and with no 3rd row, those cup holders shouldn't be there. The power train is a "no way in hell" would I ever own that. Not even if they put the iForce Max 6 in it. And the price.... not worth it. Plus did you see where Toyota dealers are putting absurd ADM markups on these already!?!? Thanks for giving us a look see though.

Everything looks cheap on these new Toyotas/ Lexus’s,my first in person impression of the tundra is the cheap plastic grill that you can literally tug on and it flexes considerably… in the cabin it feels like a bunker … this Land Cruiser looks cheap too… so many basic failures it’s astonishing… who took over Toyota, did Joe biden get a job for hunter at Toyota?

@@untamedreviewsI appreciate your calling out the flaws, I was in the market for a new tundra but my own personal gripes with it made me do what you did and buy a 2nd gen…. I feel like the only people who like/support the new tundra are fanboyz like trd Jon and tundra dude and people who don’t want to feel like fools for spending 70k on a truck that regressed in many areas compared to 2nd gen. Keep telling the truth about this stuff, only way Toyota improves … and for Christ sake give people back their v8 option, even if it comes with a gas guzzler penalty…. This is AMERICA! 🦅 don’t force us like communists to drive these vehicles that have qc on par with Ladas
