In this video I will be removing my OEM Rubicon Rocker Sliders and replacing them with Rock Slide Engineering Gen 3 Step Sliders.
My biggest comment about these steps is the engineering and manufacturing is amazing. That combined with the easy instructions make the final result look almost factory.
Here is what was included;
ROCK SLIDE ENGINEERING JL 4 DOOR STEP SLIDERS ($2309.99): rockslideengin...
ROCK SLIDE ENGINEERING STEP SLIDER LIGHT KIT ($79.99): rockslideengin...

Had mine for 2 years now on my Gladiator. Live in Minnesota and they are a bit sluggish In extremely cold weather, but have never failed.

What’s your overall experience? Would you recommend them to a friend? Did you have any issues with yours besides them being a bit sluggish in the extreme cold? I’m in California in a city that never sees snow, so would you recommend me to get these? I want them, but I’m worried about motor failures as I’ve read about a lot of people having issues with the gen 2 sliders. I know these are gen 3, but I’m worried as soon as it goes past the warranty period, it’ll crap out. And for $3000 steps with the skids, it’ll really suck if they become same as the bomber side skids that coats $900.

they sell a set of heavy duty armor skins that you can add on and replace as needed to protect them even more. looks good, I am planning on installing a set on my 23' 392 soon.

Nice install bud! Glad you were able to get them Installed! I’m the Facebook guy who sold them to you. I recognized your yellow accent wraps!

Haha, thanks man. I actually just sold them and picked up some Mopar Performance Rails. I no longer will need the adjustable step with the new lift I have going in soon.

My favorite mod to my JL, but I have had issues in the past with them. They don’t like cold weather due to the “gas spring”, so do yourself a favor and install their fix for this issue. It’s around a $100.00 for actual “springs” that are installed without removal of steps. I don’t foresee this update having issues with cold weather and snow.

This is the best mod I’ve done on my JLU. Just ask my vertically challenged wife.

I unfortunately have a love hate relationship with these. I have a ‘15 JKUR and they were awesome until they weren’t. Living in the PNW, I have very wet weather that is also often very cold. This caused the steps to no longer move fully. So they would hang down 2” all the time. Finally the drivers side didn’t deploy fully and when I stepped on it unknowingly, it stripped the gears in the motor. So now my drivers side is stuck down and passenger side is stuck up. I don’t have the funds to replace the motors and spring retractors.

Yeah powered steps are great until the weather affects them.

Those steps are a waste of money! Nothing but problems, everyone I’ve ran into with them has had issues with them, from either motor failure to steps redeploying.

This or Amp XL. I just wish this doesn't have that magnets and sensors installed or needed that might wear out and create problems in the furure. The Amp XL is the closest look to stock Rubicon rock rails and better wider steps without using magnets and sensors, but not as solid as this one. Nice video tho.

Thanks, they are the stock machined face wheels with a black vinyl on them to make the look like Willy's wheels. Then added the neon yellow accents.

Why do all power step look so cheaply made but are so expensive.

Nice install action, look great 👍🏻 I was looking to install a kit but I was wondering how they will work in winters? I leave in Quebec, did you have any problem so farm with them in the snow? Live your channel, we’ll explain, I’m new to zjeep and learn a lot from your video, keep up the good work 👍🏻🍺

I have heard they are fine, you just need to clear off the snow that gets on the inside sometime and then grease them up once and awhile. Thank you for the kind words!

@@00ninja00 No, but I did feel like the Gen 3 where a little less quality then the Gen 1 and maybe Gen 2. Like one of mine made a bit of a noise when closing.
