I’m so glad I got my XL Hybrid for 22k. It’s been a great little truck. Not one issue. The upgrades are nice but 40k is too much. It is what it is. Basic transportation.

Anyways, I digress. It's not the color option, some trucks look good in an OD'ish variant, its that interior color scheme with the exterior color, it's an abortion in my eyes.

I was thinking the same thing, the interior and exterior in green doesn't go together well, it is one of the reasons I've had back but I did see that you can upgrade to the black interior version which will match better with the green exterior. But then the price does increase then you start to wonder if you're paying to much for the vehicle.

Even at 40k what's the competition? There is none. If you want a small fuel efficient mini truck to haul some dirt around in this is it. If you want vinyl seats so they're easier to clean you literally have to have the lariat. And no seat covers don't count.

If you compare to the price of a higher end Escape, RAV4, etc the price of the Maverick is in line. Unfortunately, that's the state of vehicle prices today. It's no wonder the automakers are starting to run into a wall with sales. A lot of us can't afford to make a second house payment every month.

Nice review as usual. I find it odd you can get a sunroof on the Maverick (not the tested unit) but not on the Ranger which is a newer entry compared to the Maverick. I got a 2023 Ridgeline (RTL-E) in January of this year for about 3K more than this Maverick. More room, much nicer interior appointments, very quiet w/wonderful ride and V-6 although mileage, at 23 mpg average, is below Maverick.

Ha! What a joke. Dealers do this. It was supposed to be a 20k small truck, 25 equiped decently. NO, it's not worth 40k. I paid 41.5 for my Quad cab XLT Ranger 4x4 with Tow and locking rear diff. 1k paint upgrade too. So No.

I have 23 xl hybrid. I got $18500 new from Granger Ford.($21,765+$180 doc fee less the $3250 manufacture rebate)Shout out to Granger Ford. It is great for that price. I would never pay 38600 for a economy truck.... Plus what in gods hell is that color combo. The orange is clash. The blue and white is lame. I put some. Nice wheels and tires on my hybrid and its fine 2wd. 6:53

For those who complain about the price tell me if there is a comparable vehicle that has the same capabilities and efficiency as the maverick hybrid. The answer is, there is nothing out there that compares. Now comparing the Maverick Hybrid to a similarly equipped SUV...the price is actually similar. I feel it is priced correctly based off the market. The aspect that is going for the Maverick is it has significantly more capability.

@@scupking Yup people comparing apples to oranges. Not to mention, show me a loaded AWD hybrid truck that can do 40mpg for $40k or you can get this for like $30k without getting all the options. There is none, closest competitors are the Ridgeline and the Santa Cruz and they both cost more while averaging 20mpg. For someone who just wants a midsize truck with great MPG, this is priced right. Unless other manufacturers start making these kind of trucks (pls Toyota).

Time to change the INTERIOR Plastics (Dashboard, Door Inserts, Seat Frames, etc) from that color of "BLUE" to the more traditional BLACK...as the BLUE plastics makes them look dated and cheap...especially if you get the BLACK OUT Package.

I love my '23 Maverick Lariat (non-hybrid, AWD), so much so that I have a '25 Maverick Lariat (hybrid, AWD) slated for production next month. It's almost a perfect vehicle for my use-case (wife & dog as passengers, weekends towing a tiny camper and Lowe's runs), just would love to see ventilated seats and Pro Power Onboard instead of the 400w outlet in the bed

The maverick started at 19k but no one got it for 19 due to dealers Marking up the hell out of it 40k MSRP probably 45 or more when all is said and done...... Make a simple damn truck........ That isn't a pos nothing they have made has been worth a damn as of late.....5.0 and 7.3 is probably the best engines currently they have but the 5.0 even has issues with the oil and some other things.
