Sokka was raised in a culture with very strong gender roles so he's never SEEN female warriors. Once he realizes he was wrong, he humbles himself and uses the opportunity to better himself...which is what makes Sokka so loveable, he's adaptable and willing to grow and change.

That was mostly the North to be fair, all the female warriors got taken to fire nation prisons before he was even born in the South pole. It was probably like seeing a unicorn on kyoshi island lol

True but I think it’s because it just felt so much like a big sister and little brother relationship before book 2. Aang was also a lot more immature in book 1 and grew so much after going through what he did. By book 3 it’s almost as if Aang grew 30 years, the development of maturity and complexity of his character was what made Kataang an easier ship since Katara was so wise beyond her age already.
@Talisguy
@Talisguy 2 жыл бұрын
@@KraXoom I think it's important to keep in mind what Aang says in episode 1, when he reminds Katara that she's still a kid. He allows her, in a sense, to set aside the maturity she's been forced to take on and just have fun once in a while. It's not just that he grows up, it's that she's allowed to relax every once in a while. Finally. After God knows how long.

It was my childhood. I remember Nickelodeon doing season marathons for all seasons. I always watched it no matter how often I already watched it. Best Childhood Series ever made! The only thing that really disturbs me is the voice acting in English. I grew up with the German one and they all had very mature voice. Suko sounded like an actual 16 years old and Ang had a change of voice from book 2 to 3 so he sounded like a teenager as well and it wasn't weird at all that he got together with Katara.

It's always such a shock to see the first episode again after having finished the series. They mature so much during the coarse of the show.

hahah this video is 15 years to late for me, funny story, me and my sister were always watching Tv together so we went on nick to see if there was anything good, we saw aang and we both thought "BALD KID EWW"!! and immediately switched to something else, then one day we gave it a try and we were hooked until the series finale.

If you'd like, I can make a list if good shows if you let me know what style really draws you in fantasy, sci-fi, crime drama, etc. I tend to only watch character development based shows with quality world building and shows that make you both laugh and feel like you grew through the characters, you know those great quotable moments that made you feel better that day. Avatar has lovely world building and Zuku/Iroh are my favorite. That "Excuse You!" Was adorable and all of us watching that. My eyes legit got watery when you played that music @10:27. And yeah did between family show and kids show, real stuff like dead bodies. @11:58 Welcome to the biggest gif of Avatar next to my cabbages of course. Subscribed.

@@SophiaPhannn Cool in terms of artwork that takes us to anime. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, if you watch that I suggest adding episodes 9 and 13 of the OG Fullmetal Alchemist. They are both funny, emotional and informative to parts of the main show. That can be very engaging. Probably know this one but I'll elaborate if you don't. Death Note is Sherlock Holmes from the villains perspective if he got the power of a God in highschool and felt he was doing what's best for mankind. Hakouoki is basically Dr. Jekyll Mr Hyde meets vamprires and historical samurai war fiction. Little romance thrown in. Magical girl Madoka, the art is more surrealism and can seem off putting but if you like horror by episode 3's end it takes the cutesy magical girl trope and knocks it in its head in big way. Hanasekeru seems dumb at first but if you like slice of life overcoming personal tragedy mixed with the fate of a small nation and political intrigue with a lot of romance, that's your show. In non animation Babylon 5 starts slow but is somewhere in season 2 the characters and vision become fully realized and you have a show about the fate of nations ie political intrigue and how they and the characters evolve to pretty specific, but surprising ends. You find your self crying or cheering for people you hated at the start and vice versa. It was the first sci fi series planned from beginning to end with so many interesting species and cultures. Dylenn, G'kar and Londo are the most interesting characters outside of a couple that show up in season 2. Buffy is similar in slowness only replace the lofty with camp until mid season 2 and then it's a huge dive into morality, especially the spin off. It invented the term big bad. And that's where the villains become unforgettable. Good ships on there, though I never got into the title character ship. Don't know if any of these are your taste. Oh yeah, Syfy channels Eureka is a fun show that gets deep by like episode 4. It has Dyson from Terminator 2 and I like to pretend the character is a long lost twin because the show is about a secret town if scientists and all the humor and horror that brings with it. Basically exploding robot dogs, tragic sacrifices end experiences and steamy ships. And on animation, while it's more slice of life with some magic thrown in I love Clannad and it's the prettiest animation. Basically troubled and abused boy meets girl with delicate health and through helping her grows to overcome his past. With a sci fi element that you won't get in till the very end of season two. Whole different show after that and I 100% cried, but happy tears, well at the end anyway. Good luck.

ANY TEACHERS HERE?! I ask because i saw a wonderful comment about a Teacher saying he watched this Show together with his whole Class and the Effects and the Thought-Food was so Epic that they had many, many, many nice talks about it. I just wanted to spread this cause the idea that all Teachers use this work of fiction to discuss the countless various things it covers (from abusive Daddys over Spiritisim to Strategy-in-War), makes me feel Fuzzy. If a Teacher reads this, i hope you use the Tool you've been given. A Tool that other tried and yes, it works in the School-Enviroment; much.
