Love the low light and night mode on the AP2, it's really impressive. The larger flip screen, adjustable settings, and time code are also super appealing. I’ve already bought the Ace Pro 1, but now I’m thinking of upgrading lol.

For me, both the Ace Pro 2 and Action 5 Pro have great colors, while the GoPro13 leans a bit yellowish. And for the night shot at 02:35, what’s going on with GoPro? I can't see your face anymore.

I love my AcePro one... ntt sure if this is a significant upgrade... but that 4K60 HDR is pretty awesome. Thats being said, if i find a buyer for my AcePro one i'll get the acepro 2.

Nope, latest firmware it has a option for standard and high. The standard looks great tho and makes editing easier and you really can't tell after uploading to youtube etc.

I just got the action 4. Not a fan of the setup but so far quality looks good. On sale now for $219 from amazon. Im gonna post some videos on my tech channel @randotechnerd. I only have the 4 so won't be a comparison. If i could give you a recommendation it's that you don't need something brand new if it's just for family videos most of the cams made in the last few years will work.

Ace pro one absolutely had a removable lense cover, they just added two tiny drops of glue to half heartedly try and prevent users from removing it LOL 😆

Its interesting to see how GoPro is falling behind and all the other brands jumping forward with so much of what the clients want. I have the Action 4 with the mic and for EUC and Motorbike riding videos its just awesome. Easy to use, easy to pair, firmware keeps on getting better and for me the Action is a great action camera size.

Great video as always! One thing to note, the Ace Pro 1's lens can be removed, they put a dot of glue just inside so it's harder to remove, but there are 3D printed wrenches out there so you can remove it easily for the first time, after the initial removal it is easy to remove and reinstall. It has spring loaded clips just like the new Ace Pro 2 and GoPro's. I would assume this would void your warranty, but I did it on mine to be able to use ND filters.

They didn't remove the ability it was still there....they literally added a drop of glue LOL in a weak attempt to prevent it from being removed. The glue didn't even provide any additional water resistance 🙄

Hmmm.... just might be my next camera for motorcycle rides. I currently use the Insta360 one RS and love the modularity about it but the Pro has better wind noise options, screen protection, ND filters etc which the one RS lacks. I tend to carry extra batteries with me so being able to swap batteries on this new one is nice as well.

Love your review. At a glace, i think ACE 2 wins for low light, but the colour science bothers me and to me looks softer too. DJI is shaper and much better during daylight, just not low light. The skew on ACE pro 2 for ultra wide is quite amazing. But the size of DJI is so compact. Pros and Cons, choices choices choices. Seems like we can never have everything. These manufacturers might have a regular underground meetings to discuss points on how to confuse the mass.

A couple of corrections: Two DJI mic 2s can be connected to OA5 OA5 doesn't use bluetooth, the connection between DJI mic 2 and OA5 is noticeably better comparing to bluetooth. Anyway iPhone 15 pro is still arguably beter comparing to either of these two action cameras.

I didn’t have time to do a studio long run stationary test. But the action 5 battery lasts longer through all my testing. Gopro did the worst.

I wonder when they will get AEB at 2 stops for HDR photos. Imagine the uses with full image clarity! Landscape and real estate photography comes to mind. The full frame camera users for these functions might get annoyed though.

I don’t think weight is the key factor. The sensor and chip upgrades deserve more attention. People buy cameras to get clearer footage, not to feel like they’ve got a toy in their hand.

Aka, 99.7% the e x a c t same camera as the Ace Pro and from the samples I see way more IQ over-processing and its all full of HDR halos and artifacts. In one word, I feel it looks like plastic. The problem with reviewers is specs. Put it to use on a motorcycle, on a snowmobile, skiing or snowboarding. Put the camera to use, ride at night let’s see real stabilization to use. Weight does make a BIG DIFFERENCE. DJI Osmo Action 5 for the win to better battery, better weight savings. You can feel this weight at the end of a really long ride for hours on end in a day. I have the Insta360 AcePro it’s a good camera but I’m selling it to go with DJI Action 5.
