Honestly I thought Martyr was decent, at least there you have a lot of options as to how you build your character (and crazy options if you're a psyker) and the DLC's can be bought with in-game currency you earn just by playing it.

Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor Martyr is actually an amazing game ever since version 2.0 update. Not joking, the game is legitimately great. It went from an average game to being a great ARPG well worth playing. It is a little bit too dependent on the stats of gear for my taste (as in.. if you want to play through a level using a flamethrower, just for fun of switching things up, but you have a laser rifle of sorts that's just way more potent in terms of damage output, you'll end up using that instead). Maybe it is due to how using my PS3 clone controller I can't pick up items and weapons with a button press when my inventory is full (which is basically all the time), so my weapons are only improved by what was picked up automatically and happens to be better gear. I feel these are minimal issues though, especially when playing with mouse and keyboard, it'll be a none issue. Although inventory management still is kind of shitty. You'll want the money from selling junk, but at the same time you need free space for stuff that's decent.

4:27 The extra stuff you get from the Magnus Edition is as follows: 2 Emotes 1 +5% XP Boost 1 +5% Gold Boost 1 Cosmetic Helmet 1 Pet(that's supposed to increase gather distance but so far in my game hasn't done squat) On console(PS4 specifically) haven't encountered a single crash of any kind thus far but pretty sure a few glitches(like the Collector's Guild rank up rewards unlocking twice for no reason) HOWEVER! I definitely agree with your assessment, this should have been cheaper considering the content.Post-story has Expeditions which are large randomly generated maps in each hub with random events that spawn during it and Boss Rush modes which allow you to fight that maps main boss(example Great Unclean One in Nuln) on a single life. The Magnus Edition gives you a Season Pass meaning there is more content on the way but what it is exactly we don't know(hopefully some more playable classes like a Witchhunter even and some more areas).

@@prophetzero5528 I don't like D3 when compared to games like Grim Dawn, Path of Exile and Wolcen (although this one is barely playable in terms of content being early access). Heck I literally had more fun playing Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor Martyr with it's 2.0 version update, than D3 after all the numerous updates it has seen since launch. But when it comes to action RPGs you can do quite a bit worse than D3. There's a lot of crap out there. The thing that bugs me the most about D3 is the lack of a truly mature theme and darker setting, something D4 doesn't seem to improve on that much in terms of actual in-game visuals and content. Have to wait and see. In terms of gameplay D3 is too much like an MMORPG.

I enjoyed it when it came out but then you get 4 players spamming one move through the map, one shot on mobs on level 99 rifts. All the dungeon crawlers are exactly the same. Get 1 skill maxed out and spam the fuck out of it. 😴😴😴😴😴

Glad I passed on this, I've sort of got burnt out on ARPGs after playing so many, and they all sort of feel the same now. I tried to get back into Path of Exile after the last major update but only played it for about week before I burnt out again. What I'd really love to see is an ARPG where you control a squad instead of a single character, that would be a nice way to mix things up.

The game seems really well optimized to me, no problems with a mere 1060 but the main issue I saw was the game doesn't limit its framerate at all, I was pushing 180+ fps and I had to enable vsync to stop wasting all those cycles. That took it from 99% gpu to like 40-60%. Otherwise agreed on a lot.

I played today with my friend on 1 pc coop, for 12 h and we couldn;t stop it, its amazing better than any other coop game in market. If you play with online friends that is far away from the true experience. Lay down on sofa, and order pizza, than play with your friends , that will gives you a good experience.

Buy Vermentide 2 instead. The same concept, but first person and it’s actually good. It’s probably 15 USD, always on sale on Steam, and it’s fun, especially with friends. It’s pretty much L4D with medieval weapons and magic. I think I bought it for 5 USD a while back and it’s well worth it, and I believe Mack thumbed it up in a WAB

Regarding the optimization. I finished the game ( the story once) playing local coop with a friend on a GTX780 at 1080p. No idea of the temp but I had no frame drops and no crashes. I can't imagine why it would work perfectly on a 5 years old video card and also would use 100% of the curent gen.

Firstly, you seem a bit confused on how a graphics card works. It runs hot because the fps are not limited, you are probably running at a higher frame rate than your monitor refresh rate. Just limit your fps to your monitor refresh rate to see the temperature dramatically drop. Secondly, the fact that your GPU is hot and your fps high means that the game is well optimized, as opposed to a game that is poorly optimized and CPU limited in which most of the time is spent on the CPU hence driving down GPU usage. I didn't particularly enjoy your review, imho is a bit all over the place. I agree that the game is a bit overpriced at its current state. But the foundation for a good ARPG is there, I'll be waiting to see if it evolves in something good or sink into oblivion like many other games before this.

You can limit the frame rate in GPU software like MSI Afterburner etc, would lower the temp. Should not have to do that, but its a easy work around.

You should do a WaB video on Grim Dawn, seems to me it is worth a buy considering how much content and unique character customization there is in the game for the price. If you think you are getting heat related crashes you should download a "power virus" style benchmark like furmark and make sure. Game devs have no choice but to assume you have sufficient cooling for your hardware, and they cannot be blamed if poor cooling is the root cause of crashes.

I never had any extreme heat or crashing issues with this. I did buy it late, after a bunch of patches and on sale...But still. (PS: I have a 3060ti GPU and an i7 10700 CPU with 16 GB ram and play games on a 1440/60hz monitor.) It's a decent game. If you enjoyed Diablo 3 and are a WH fan, you'll like it. I do love how you can respec at anytime and for free. That's just a nice feature all these ARPGs should have by now. I've bought 3 WH video games now (Inquisitor Martyr, Mechanicus, and this one), and they're all good. Not great, but good. But they also all had rough launches and required a lot of post-release patches and such. Another issue is price. They are vastly overpriced when not on sale...Lots of dumb DLC, too. Best to get the "deluxe edition" to get it all. Wait until they're like 15 USD or less to buy.
