Worthy Budget Android Tablet? | Honor Pad 9 Review

Reviewing the Honor Pad 9, a budget Android tablet boasting a crispy 2.5k display, enough gaming grunt to run Genshin Impact and excellent battery life. For a budget under £300 the Honor Pad 9 is certainly a worthy iPad alternative - and one of the best for battery life at this price.
Of course, there's a lot of competition as far as affordable tablets go in 2024. The OnePlus Pad, Xiaomi Pad etc are all strong rivals, but the Honor Pad 9 is absolutely worth considering with the current price deal. For one it can handle all of the games you might wanna play, Genshin Impact, PubG etc included.
Battery life is another of the highlights of the Honor Pad 9. This Android tablet can stream video for over a dozen hours before it's drained, although there's no bundled adapter and recharging is super slow.

The 11.5 inch X9 is even cheaper and also better than any 10 inch iPad. You can even run the MS word app on it unlike the 10.2 iPad as I found out to my cost.

Unfortunatelly Honor did not took into account the industrial/professional use of the tablet since it does not include lte/5g connection , fingerprint scanner, smallest waterproof protection, GPS positioning functions, no card expansion. So, alot of people that could have bought the pad are left behind no matter the price! Nowadays alot of the taxi drivers/ride sharing drivers use tables to get around (need sim connection and gps) so Honor lost alot of sales by cutting features, maybe next time!

The performance & aspect ratio is a deal breaker for me. I would recommend Xiaomi Pad 6 or 6 pro. It has solid Performance & exactly 16:10 aspect ratio to make content watching good (No Black bars). But it us little expensive coming at around $350

@user-ub7yw7jg4f my previous iPad was a 12.9 4th Gen 1Tb I assumed it was overkill but looks like if I go low end android I will regret it, hmm seems over the top to get a 2024 11”(if they come out) just for note taking but looks like that’s the best option (haven’t taken notes on 60hz iPad before) also sold Apple Pencil so was open to any tablet with new stylus

You first should decide what one works for you better for you . I use macs on desktop but generally don't like ios as I find it way to restrictive but this is just me not most people. I had a ipad and sold it now I have a Android tablet and it feels right at home. Only eco system tool I used was airdrop but that was only cause transferring files from an iPad to mac vise versa in more of a pain than android to mac if using USB which I find is a joke. If you use a IPhone and like it then the iPad will still probably be the best move as you already like ios presumably. Plus more of the eco system makes sense then. ☺️ Android if you need to customise everything and happy to spend time setting up. :) It really depends what you looking to do on it and what you prefer

Exynos 1380 is better but somehow this device still performs better with an SD 6 Gen 1, also the honor pad is equipped with a way better display (contrast, deltaE deviation, black value)

Nope. The samsung a9 or a9+ are underwhelming compared to this or mi pad 6. Go for the mi pad 6, I have one and i use it for netflix and doodling.

Honor pad 9 does not support HDR10,Dolby Vision. Go for Xiaomi Pad 6/pro for that missing features. If honor includes those features this would be a good choice for purchase 😢
