I love all the "amen"s in this song. Amen, “firm,” “fixed,” or “sure,” and the related Hebrew verb also means “to be reliable” and “to be trusted.” this is how Handle, chose to close this work. For about 5 minutes, nothing but affirming, and letting us know to trust the words that were spoken before. AMEN.

I grew up with classical music and listened to G. F. Händel’s musik more than I could ever count. Very well done. Beautiful. What surprises me is to see Anabaptists playing instruments. Wasn’t it once forbidden? When did it change? And why? The history interests me.

A partial answer to your question is that Lyrica Sacra has been influenced by the German and Slavic Anabaptists. These groups have around 150 years of experience with using instruments as part of the worship service in a conservative way, while conservative American Anabaptists have little to no such experience.
