The manual states
"If your lawn has multiple areas connected to each other by a corridor, it should be at least 1 meter wide. If the corridor is narrower than 1 meter, Landroid® will have difficulty travelling between."
I beg to differ!

Hello, thank you for your very informative video. I am going to equip myself with a robot mower and the power supply is near a 65 cm corridor which is also in the shade. Do you think I can install the charging station in the corridor (between the two zones) with the two wires spaced 5 cm apart ?.
@7171TBJ
@7171TBJ 2 жыл бұрын
I think it must have at least 80 cm straight stretch as it drives into the charging station, as shown here: jottacloud.com/s/000f140143192d4446786c650ea2e04f323

Hi, impressive video. I’m thinking to handle a 15m corridor (no cutting needed) with a small distance between the 2 wires like in your video (80cm max width). Do you think it can be managed? Have you had any interference problems? Thanks and regards Cristiano
@7171TBJ

You must prevent the mower from entering the zone when mowing, so have as little opening to the corridor as possible. It should only enter the corridor when looking for the next zone. And no, I have no problems with interference.

Hi, In your video, we see that the robot does not mow the Zone 1 and it stars mowing only when it enters the zone 2. Is it normal? In my case I will have 2 zones separates with a narrow corridor but I want each zone to be mowed. Thank you for your answer

Any ideas what the smallest gap the wr140E will fit through? I know they state 600mm corridor but is that for corridors where you have two boundary wires that the landroid passes both ways (each time offset from each other thus the 150mm wider than unit itself)? I have a tree about 550mm from my fence so hoping if I have a single boundary wire where the unit only passes through one way when using the boundary wire that it will pass through a slightly smaller gap than the 600mm.

Good video. Has your Landroid found the corridor and accidentally mowed into the next zone at all? Also if you send it back to the charging station does it follow the edge of both zones to get back?

@@7171TBJ in my case two zones of approximately 300+500 m2 (ca 3000 + 5000 square feet). When cutting in the zone of base station and finishing it will have a 50% chance of going into the other yard to come home? Then I should look at where I do the break out so possibility of starting to follow the wire at undesired place is as low as possible.

Hi I want to do something similar, but I want my charging station out of sight down the side of my summer house. I was worried that it wouldn't manage such a tight turn and the entrance is narrow also. Your video shows that a) the in and out cable can be put close together and it can manage a tight turn to enter the charging station. Thanks very much for that. Regards Mike

Hi, Thank you for your answer. However, I tried yesterday with a corridor of 15 cm but the robot mowed the corridor.Do you think is it due to the set up of my zones ? When you define zone, you press on delimited when the robot reaches the end of the zone. in which zone the corridor is included ? Thank you.

You must prevent the mower from entering the zone when mowing, so have as little opening to the corridor as possible. It should only enter the corridor when looking for the next zone.. Sometimes it may just hit the opening "accidentally" when mowing, so it will cut into the zone. I haven't had the mower for so long, so I don't know how often it will "accidentally" enter the corridor, but I expect it to happen. I have updated my picture of this project with arrows pointing at where I pressed "mark zone": photos.app.goo.gl/KgvmkmxxCZ5zAXFJ7

Hi. The lawnmower is just buzzing around and has no idea where it is. Once it's set to zone 1, it assumes it's always in zone 1, regardless of its actual location.
@1977pbrown
@1977pbrown 3 жыл бұрын
So just to confirm, you put a 5cm gap only for the transition between zones? Rather than the manufactures suggestion of 15cm? I see that this will reduce the odd time that the mower accidentally goes between zones as the gap is smaller. But at what stage does it not work as a zone change as I know two cables together cancel each other out like when used for the rings around treeest.

@7171TBJ
@7171TBJ 4 жыл бұрын
No. It stop cutting when searching for the next zone, and it only enters the corridor when searching for next zone. I made the entrance to the corridor very narrow because I didn't want it to accidentally escape from the zone when its cutting the grass.
@7171TBJ
@7171TBJ 4 жыл бұрын
The Landroid searches for the zone and then begins to cut. Nothing prevents it from moving between the zones as it cuts. Thats the way the zones works. It's only a "stupid machine".

Why is it deviating so much to the right side from the center of the wire? Is it because the magnetic field is distorted and pushed towards the outside of the loop when the wires are so close to each other? Where is the position of the wire if they are far from each other, is this the marking you taped to the front of the mower?
@7171TBJ
@7171TBJ 2 жыл бұрын
Hi. The posision of the wire is just below the tape. Not in the center of the mower
@foo2332
@foo2332 2 жыл бұрын
@@7171TBJ on the narrow passage you can see the wire is not below the tape, it is pushed to the side much more when the wires are so close to each other. My explanation for this is the magnetic field lines are pushed to the outside by the field lines of the other wire, they are repelling each other, the point where the field is horizontal is not exactly above the wire anymore.
