Excellent work!!! a little old but very helpful hints that I use today. I referred a m5 Stewart to this video today as a matter of fact, he sat in the same bush the whole match even though he hadn't spotted anything for about 5 minutes or longer and he thought he was doing it right even though half the team was telling him to scout.
@ohmandamp12 жыл бұрын
That was the most impressive bout of tankery I've seen. I'll be sure to apply these tips to my M4, since it's really just a LT with a medium's cannon.

Great vid. You covered everything well and made it entertaining as well. I find these Russian scouts excel at creating chaos if you use suicidal tactics like driving past the enemy into their territory. It may sound foolish but when a single scout can distract half the enemy it buys your teammates vital time to relocate or take positions. If your stuck with some mates facing off around a corner or something, sometimes a scout wizzing by will give your mates the distraction they need to push out.
@MrOgaland12 жыл бұрын
Basically yes, having good information on the battlefield is a key for victory. Enemies will show on minimap AND in 1st person view of any tank that is in radio range. It is important to say that as it means that your teamate will be able to shot target from long range without been detected (if he's far enough) thanks to the scout.

It's a mechanic in the game, basically, if another tank spots you then until either he is dead or out of your view(only applies if you have a better view and radio range)he can see pretty much everything you do.

one trick you may find helpful when playing scout is using autoaim. Look at 8:18 - HighFlyer is firing into the back of JgPzIV - with 112 penetration he would easily penetrate every shot with autoaim what woul allow him to take a quick look for his surroundings. This time noticing next TD few secs later (8:28) was not a problem, but when playing scouts, knowing your surroundings is everything.

Thanks! I love scouting, both passive and aggressive tactics. I'm going to get on the forum and ask SPG/arty players, what THEY would do if they could be their won scouts. I always wonder: How long do I need to light a tank up for them? Which order should I target tanks, based on their size, or their proximity to our lines? How many times should I ping a tank, before it's called "spamming the chat box?" And many more. Scouting is fun (the tanks are FAST) and has good earning potential.

@TheRiisingSun At the moment, I would give such advice: - It's important to know, when to push and when to defend. - Attack (positions which are on 3/4 of the lenght of the flank) - Defend (positions on 1/4 of the flank, near the base). - Defending doesn't mean camping. - Determine which flank is pushing and which one needs to defend.

if you go into the installment folder, there'll be a folder called "replays", there you'll find a lot of replays (if the allow game video setting is activated). if you then want to post it onto youtube, you'll have to record using fraps (or dxtory or something like that)

@TheRiisingSun My whole point is: - You SHOULD always analyse and take into account green team situation. Everything that's green on the map :D You have full info about them. - You SHOULD closely watch everything that's red on the map. You should even wait for some info to appear about reds. (Should I push or defend my flank, canion? Ah, all of their top tanks are in the city. So I need to push canion hard.)

NICE, I need work on my Scouting skills, I'm always going into enemy territory to deep and get caught in their cross fire and can't get out. For some reason I keep thinking I will find a scouting spot to sit in camo undetected but that never works because arty or someone always gets me and I can't resist shooting at a target. I see that you always keep on the move and this good except many times I run out of safe moves when running away or going across terrain between cover and BAM I'm dead from some tank I didn't know was there. I also have a hard time getting around the rear of a potential victim. Your vid was a great help, i hope I can get rid of my bad habits and improve my light tank skills.

what is the point of scouting? is it to make the enemy tanks show on the mini map so the teamates could see where they are?
@PootyBrad11 жыл бұрын
@lankey If you're playing scout like this you need a fast tank. It's not like they're hard to find the M2 Light is a 60 some odd mph tank. T2 Light Tank is a whopping 75 mph Tier 2 tank and the Panzer's are pretty fast as well.
