Wotc probably didn't want the rules committee to ban because now they don't have chase cards to sell packs. Can't sell the next commander booster set with dockside now, or jewled lotus. Can't boost a set like lost caverns of ixilan with mana crypt as a chase card anymore. It's my belief that some of the pressure the rules committee got after the bans was from wotc themselves for this reason.

And since Wizards has already sent Pinkertons after players who threantened their bottom line, it's not hard to imagine scenarios where they increased the pressure on the RC to give up control + shaddup and sign this NDA.

Nah, was a fun and powerfull set with nice Artwork and a real Fantasy Setting. Match made in heaven and it showed.

That's the logical thing to do. But this game is populated with tons of high and mid functioning Autists who hate change... but are hopeful for a bracket system 😅😂

But cEhd will always be "play the most powerfull cards legal in edh". The new Format would be called edh2 oder some shit. There will always be Player who just want to play the post powerfull cards in any given Format. So spliting would change nuthing.

Why isn't there a format with restrictions based on rarity? For example, your deck can contain up to 4 copies of any common, 3 of any uncommon, 2 of any rare, and a single copy of any mythic. Seems like it could potentially balance out things without the need of a lot of bans.

Manifest Dread would probably have fun in artisan (the standard "core" is all commons and uncommons except for that mythinc beast that manifests on attack).

Its impossible to have 3000+ cardpool and not have everything be busted to all hell, I actually dont think they can ban enough cards to make it work this time

I dont know if they need to ban that much but they need to stop matching you with your worst matchup every game. I include 12 removal and never face mono red but if remove it then its non stop loses to mono red

The last great mtg digital product was the tablet version of the game with Magic Origins around 2014. The game was slow AF but they disallowed having more than 1 mythic rare in a deck and only 2 rares in a deck

I 100% understand why 60 card, 1v1 decks are cutthroat and competitive - that's the entire point of the format. But that should NOT be the case, AT ALL, for EDH. (I refuse to call it commander.) Now, if I had my way, the ban list would probably be 500+ cards, which, admittedly, even I wouldn't want to have to deal with. But as long as cards are getting printed that allow people to completely ruin the EDH format, I fully support bans like MC and JL. This format is SUPPOSED to be slow.
