I just got my Druid to 70 and switched to Boomie - and wow, I didn't expect it to be as fun as it is. And how much of an asshole I felt like whenever I hit Starfall. Its incredible, and I'm glad its going to be my second main going into Wrath.

Did my fist prepatch bt+sunwell as boomie and after usually just about scraping into the top 10 on dps in our raids it was nice to be really fighting over top to top 3 almost all fights, and destroying warlocks on trash if starfall is up xD Really do need some kind of addon to keep better track of eclipse procs though as the default graphic is insanely hard to distinguish for my shitty colorblind eyeballs. The video is a great concise way for me to add some polish, and that spreadsheet is amazing.

I have question have 9.95 hit but have 3 set items so i Missing one for set bonus so my bis is the HEAD set but its hard to get ...so my question is to go legs set but i will lose 50 hit So i will be at 8.05 % hit what you think? go for set or wait later on to take head set but maybee will take long to win ROLL for it :D So is 5% crit worth to go down to 8.05 % hit? :D

Hello, good guide but something you missed totally both in this video and the spreadsheet is consumables and maybe potions (you say potions here but in spreadsheet it says something esle.

I did'nt mention consumes since it was a basic guide, but now that you say it, I couldve put them in there! My bad. I have an in depth raid guide coming out that has them all. Use Flask of Blinding Light. Brilliant Wizard Oil and Poached Bluefish, or Blackened Baskilish, or the healer food that is now SP

@crix I saw that your Boomy rotation is using moonfire and the "Official* WoTLK Classic Balance Druid Guide" spreadsheet under the Rotation section says to keep up Insect Swarm and "Cast Moonfire only when moving, Insect swarm is already on the boss AND starfall is on cooldown." what is the ideal rotation and does it not matter if I use insect swarm or moonfire on the boss?

All the talents, glyphs mentioned in this video differ from other online sources’ choices. I don’t know if they are wrong (yet), just an interesting observation. Online sources tend to shit on Moonfire even at this point, and I have to agree with them. Even though Insect Swarm gets literally know direct talents buffing it, it still does WAY more damage than Moonfire, which is by the way, buffed by all the crit and damage talents targeting Wrath and Starfire. It is no wonder then, that most people Major Glyph starfall rather than moonfire. I haven’t checked the numbers, but a glyphed starfall would probably do more damage to a SINGLE target like a boss, than a glyphed moonfire, which is just sad.

Im trying to learn boomy, i've seen and read countless guides and there still something i dont really get. Lets say i have 320 haste, should i use haste gems to reach soft cap(401) or just try to swap crit gear with haste ones

I would say that getting crit is more important than the haste cap. Crit provides way too many useful things to worry about haste first.

I noticed you don’t pop “on use” until lunar eclipse. I normally first pop it with my starfall then toss out my treants. So both spells benefit from the extra SP. Do you think there’s a bigger dps gain having it up longer during Starfire spams?

I'm surprised you went for single targetting glyphs! Knowing that Glyphs of focus/starfall exist (and need to be used in combination for decent aoe damage) Also another point : if you have heal gear, you can switch to boomkin and have a really good dps nonetheless, no matter if you have any hit at all! (at least for dungeons, might be a little low on raids)

I have less than heroic gear on my boomy and I’m going oom super fast with this build. Is it worth it to put points into dream state and moonglow, or will fights still get burned down to where it won’t matter? I’m assuming early wrath gear will solve mana issues regardless of these points.

This spec is designed for maxing raid dps, for questing/open world farming id suggest another spec with more mana talents and owlkin frenzy

Raid comps bring a lot for mana regen! If you are still having mana issues in a raid then you can 100% pick up some mana talents!

I personally did spec into all the mana talents, but the thing that will solve your problem in the long run is getting as much crit as you can. Look at how many gear slots you have at the moment with no crit on them, and start looking for which items will give you the most crit upgrade. You’ll start to feel much better mana-wise once you get to about 25% unbuffed.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, im new to chicken spec. I've heard conflicting things regarding using insect swarm. I know we're in pre patch rn but when wrath comes out I've read alot of guides saying to apply insect swarm aswell as moonfire. Does insect swarm just get stronger as gear scales at 80 and make it more worth it ?

Currently right now the IS build/glyph is ran at 80, where you only Moonfire if moving. Right now on Prepatch its different since LV 70.
